Fun Activites for My Visting Family?

My family will be visiting from Utah at the end of July. They will be driving here, so I am looking for some activities with minimal travel involved (I'd like to stay here in the tempe, mesa, phx area). My parents are conservative so I need good clean fun family oreiented ideas. Please suggest some things, I think I will go crazy if they are stuck in my home all week.

The IMAX Theater at AZ Mills mall is always showing something fun in 3D. Also remember the Diamondbacks play in an air conditioned dome!

The Mesa Library has a "Culture Pass" that you can get for free admission for children (I think) to all the museums, etc. in the area. There are a lot of places to visit like that. Try mesalibrary.org...

Hi, B. -
Hard to think of stuff when it's so hot, huh? One indoor suggestion is Organ Stop Pizza. Great for the whole family.
Enjoy your visitors!

Don't forget the Botanical Garden. Go early or a couple of hours before sundown. There's a cafe there and the scenery is fabulous. D.

HI B., My mom always takes visiting friends/family to the Rockin' R Ranch in Gilbert. It's a dinner/show and they usually like it. She also takes them to Goldfield Mines in Mesa/AJ which is on the road to the lakes. They usually walk around the shops and then have lunch there and ride the train around. Kills some time and fun for all ages. And keep your eye on www.showup.com. It has activities (some free) in the Phx area. I hope this helps and have fun!

here is my summer activity list:
Tempe Towne Lake Splash park
*Tempe Marketplace splash pad/ Barnes & Noble (Thomas the Train)/ lunch
*Peter Piper Pizza (Tues. 10-12 superhero day!)
*Mesquite Groves Pool—so fun, but check the hours!
*library…books & pickup a culture pass (these go FAST!)
*Harkins Summer Movies (our tickets are for Fridays)
*Drive-In movies (I think Tuesdays are their cheap family night)
*The mall to play and eat lunch
*The Mesa Museum for Youth ($5 p/person or get a culture pass)
*Phoenix Children’s Museum (culture pass)
*Mesa Riverview splash pad & Bass Pro
*Jump & Shout (bring a group of 10, they’ll let you in for $5 p/kid)

*McCormick Ranch R.R. Park in Scottsdale (if it isn’t too hot)
*LOCAL JR. HIGH SWIMMING POOLS
*Duper Show at Superstition Mall (Thursday 10 am)
