I keep my fruit in the fridge...I think they may be coming in the drain. I have poured bleach and hot water down the drain and it didnt work.. Any suggestions????

Email my cousin Rick at ____@____.com owns A Plus Pest and has this GREAT enzyme spray that eliminates the fruit flies. I love it! And it is non-chemical so you don't have to worry about using it around your kids.

Of course they will go away on their own as soon as it gets a little colder.

You can tell Rick his cousin M. recommended him to you!
Good luck!

This is a constant problem at my grandparent's house. Take a jar and fill it half way with Apple Cider Vinegar and put a paper funnel in the top of the jar. They fly in and can't fly out. It may take a few days, but it should clear up the problem.

Buy cheap lemon scented dish soap, take a light/white colored shallow bowl ...not clear (i.e. soup bowl or even pie shaped plate), add some soap mixed in water. Place a small focused desk lamp or a piano-lamp- type lamp over the bowl. (The more focused the light over the bowl is, the better. Leave overnight and repeat if necessary. You should see that the bugs dive-bombed into the bowl overnight and once they hit the soapy water, they go in, but they can't fly out. Hope this helps.

When we were on vacation my friend did the saran wrap over a bowl trick with beer in the bowl. It worked like magic!!!

To add to the last posters advice, place some saran wrap on top with a rubber band, or plastic baggie, poke some holes on top so they can fly in but they can't find their way out. I use wine instead of vinegar, the fruit in it seems to attract them more, and still put some dish soap too. you will have a nice little collection on your counter top, but it does do the trick. You have to do it for a few days to get any that have hatched recently. It is the season for flies but are usually gone by november. i battle them every year.

Put apple cider vinegar in a glass with a squirt of dishwashing liquid. You will see a bunch of those annoying flies at the bottom of the glass in minutes. Good luck.

We just mixed apple cider vinegar with dishwashing soap in a cup and they will fly in and get stuck. Good luck!
