Frozen Meat - Chicago,IL

Poultry shouldn't be kept long at all and can go up to 1-2 days. I have a chart from a grocery store that says different times for different meats. It came from Price Chopper and if you have one near you maybe you could ask for a guide of some kind. To be safe though 1-2 days. Meats like hot dogs 1 week, lunch meat 3-5 days it says. Bacon 7 days, 3-5 days for pork chops and roasts. I always am more careful than not.
EDIT: My food chart that says 'price chopper' on it is the exact same one that Marda P put the link to from the FDA. It's very handy to keep on hand.

What kind of meat? You can store solid meat longer than ground meat.

i dont leave thawed meat in my fridge for longer then 3 days

72 hours thawed and 72 hours cooked.

It depends on how long it sat in the fridge (your fridge and the store) before you froze it. ie: If the sell by date was the10th and you bought it on the 9th, then you froze it on the 9th, then I'd guess if you thaw it, you have one-two days to cook it.

It also depends on the kind of meat. Sniff it. If it smells bad, then you waited too long to cook it.

once unthawed go ahead and cook it last less then 24 hours un cooked once cooked may last just a couple of days
