French Drain Repair

Hi, Mamas! I would like to know if any of you know who I would need to call to repair a french drain? I'm not sure if a handy man could do it, or a plumber, or a landscaper. When we had a new AC unit installed last year, apparently the weight of the new unit partially collapsed the french drain on the south side of our house. The yard slopes downhill toward the house on that side, and in the last couple of months when it has rained a lot, water hasn't been draining away like it should, but instead, it seeps in between the bottom of the wall and the foundation, coming in under the tiles and into the other rooms where there is carpet, drenching it. We have been waiting and cleaning the carpet, hoping it would dry up on it's own, but it isn't. So, obviously, we need to get a professional to come in and take care of it. We're hoping that if the french drain is repaired, the carpet will dry out on it's own. I'm afraid though, we're going to have to replace the carpet regardless. TIA for your responses and advice.

You would need a landscaper to repair it. Where are you located? I have a good one that has done a lot of work for us from our sprinkler system, to grading work, to french drains. If you don't have anybody to do it, let me know where you are located and I will send you his name and number. I am not sure he goes all over the metroplex.

D., My Husband has his own Home Repair business and does small plumbing, however, your problem is complex and He said you are going to have to call a Master Plumber. I thought so, because we had similar problem. We used A Plus Plumbing, their phone is ###-###-####. Husband said pretty sure you will have to have carpet replaced but ask Plumbing Company (Tommy - Owner)if homeowners insurance will cover that. He was very helpful with us on the insurance, he handled it, for us. Did Great Job. Was very knowledgeable about the landscaping also.
Good Luck

Tell him you are calling because R. said you did a good job for her and he may give you discount - I don't know. I'm sure he knows who I am because I called him 100 times with a 100 questions. If he gives me some kind of referral rebate, I'll tell him to take it off your bill.
