Is it normal? Not sure if I've been this cold during pregnancy. Haven't had first doctor visit yet, am maybe a couple months pregnant, and am cold "all" the time.

Yes! I was freezing throughout most of my pregnancy! I did get pregnant in October, so it was throughout the winter, but even when the hotter months kicked in at the end, I was comfortable, instead of hot. I considered myself weird, but lucky, as I'd rather be cold than hot! Nice to see there are other "weirdos" out there too :)
Oh, and I know I'm not anemic, as I give blood regularly and had it tested while I was pregnant, and my thyroid is/was fine as well, so those don't have to be the cause.
Congrats on being pregnant and best wishes!!

Have you had your thyroid checked? Feezing is one of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism could also explain your fertility issues (miscarriage).

Good luck and God Bless!

I always heard being cold is but one sign of anemia.. check out online the other signs. If you're concerned a quick bloodtest at the dr. could help. But from my first pregnancy I remember having this. I am almost 6 weeks along now and am ALWAYS cold:) I have an extra blanket in bed already and the thermostat wars at home have already begun! FWIW, I had a blood panel recently and no anemia. So feeling chilly early in pregnancy seems pretty normal. Congratulations on your pregnancy.. I had a loss as well (in March) so I know the cautious optimism there. Have a healthy and happy pregnancy!

I was cold my 1st pregnancy. I wanted to get pregnant over the winter months because I was always so terribly hot all the time. After I got pregnant in Feb with my 1st I was dreading being hot all summer. I ended up wearing sweaters for the 1st time in years. Loved it. My 2nd pregnancy I was not unusually cold or hot. Different hormones I guess.

It is not unusual, just not the norm. My good friend also froze during her pregnancy.

Hope this helps.

Hormones are strange and evil. I was cold up until that last month.

I was so excited being pregnant thinking finally I will be warm and it didn't happen until close to the end. When it did happen it was the dead of winter and I wanted to wear t-shirt and shorts...everyone thought I was nuts.

I remember being that cold. I didn't ask about it but just attributed it to the new chemistry of my body, maybe my iron being sucked from me by my baby.

I don't know if its normal or not but that happened with all 3 of my pregnancies, and I mean TEETH-CHATTERING cold.
All during the 1st trimester. I have a very healthy soon to be 7 yr. old boy, I had a miscarriage( at 7 weeks ) with my second and an etopic with my third. I don't associate neither of my losses to be because of the freezing part, I don't think you should worry about that.
I just wanted to let ya know you're not alone , I had it too. :)

YES, this is very normal especially if you have morning sickness. I felt cold and uncomfortable a lot in the first trimester. BTW, I, too had 2 miscarriages but also had three healthy pregnancies (very close in age!) so I understand your concern. Just dress warmer and hopefully it will pass...best of luck!

I too froze during my pregnancy. I remember on numerous occasions watching TV with a blanket wrapped completely around me! Good luck.
