Freebies
OK, Moms, I need your advice.
We are working on a project at work to prepare for the launch of a new product for children. Moms are are target audience, however. We're hoping to give away something free, minimal value, and are having a hard time coming-up with an idea that most people will actually use and not throw in a drawer never to be seen again.
What are some of the best items you've received for free to promote a product or service?
Some examples are the magnets you receive from your insurance agent with the phone numbers of local services (police, fire, etc), calendars, recyclable grocery bags, stress balls, etc.
Thanks, in advance.
So What Happened?™
The freebies are for the family - primarily Mom, I guess. I can't disclose the product because of our work with the FDA - it is a health related product. We just want to provide something of value, even if minimal, that people would actually use.

I use the reuseable grocery bags, travel mugs, sports bottles and note pads. Also the bag clips.
No magnets, stainless appliances dont go with them well and they just make a cluttered mess. stress balls end up cat and kid toys as to the keychains.

the previous suggestions are great: hand sanitizer or a reusable bag are always great. i was thinking a travel sized diaper wipe container could work too. Maybe a band-aid holder or 1st Aide Kit might be good too?

I love hand sanitizer, grocery magnet lists, pens on ropes are great to tape to chore charts ;-) highlighters, any type of small desk organizers for paper clips or pens, those garbage bags you hang in your car, or the cup holders you fit on your door are great for drinks or for holding kids crayons in the car. Mini sized teddy bears with a logo t shirt, band aid holders for your purse, chap stick,suckers....i can go on and on LOL. Good luck

My favorite freebie is a pocket calendar I got from a florist. I know a lot of people use their phones for scheduling now, but I have to be able to write things down. The calendar has reminders specific to the company, like when to order flowers for Mothers Day, etc.
I also like hand lotion, hand sanitizer, chap stick, wet wipes, mini flashlight, anything small & convenient I can toss in my purse.

can you give a better description on the project you are working on? Is it freebies for the kids or more the moms?

My answer is a product that's not specifically *for* a mom. The best freebie I ever received was a small (approx. 6 inches in diameter) blow up ball- like a beach ball with the company's logo on it.
My kids each got one and they played with those balls constantly!
Good luck on your search!
