Found: Really Helpful Web Site on Parks and Playgrounds

Found a really great Web site : www.kidsplayparks.com
You can look up local parks in your area to read what other parents have to say about them, or add your own. They don't have a ton of data yet, but what they have it great.
I am actually looking for parks in or near Bergen County, any good ideas??

What can I do next?

Van Saun Park in Paramus is awesome, though right now, part of the playground is under construction, and I don't like the fact that it is not enclosed - not a big deal if your kids are older, but not good for toddlers like mine. The Lyndhurst Town Park is awesome too - big playground AND a sprayground which is free and open to everyone. If you don't know what a sprayground is, it's got fountains where water comes out of the ground and over your head, and in hoop tunnels, etc. Basically a water park with no slides or pools. Good for all ages, even babies.

Google bergen cty parks! So many great ones in each town. Best is van saun which has palygrounds and a great zoo as well as cafe.

Ridgewood duckpond is a big hit too. But deopends if you have big or little kids....

That IS a very cool site. Thanks a lot for sending the link. If we don't already know about our area it's very helpful, but even more if we're going outside of our area or state. Thanks!

NOt sure of the name, but there's a park in union city at 31st and new york ave with sprinklers, kids pool and playground. it's free and very clean. kids have lots of fun. nearby area has great colombian and cuban food too. Easy to get to.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to check out the website. I recommend Van Saun park in Paramus, its great. Besides having picnic areas, the zoo and the little train, they also have age-appropriate playgrounds. We've been taking my son there since he was able to walk without worryng that he'll get knocked over by bigger kids.
