Hi N.! We are in the Western Hills High School Pyramid in West Ft Worth/Benbrook. My boys have gone through Waverly Park Elementary, Leonard 6th, Leonard Middle and are now a Junior (almost a Senior!) and a Sophomore (almost a Junior) at WHHS. My daughter has gone all the way through Waverly Park, will finish up 5th grade in just a few weeks. We really like it. WP is the most amazing elementary. My kids have had no problems with other students in their schools at all. And there are some great teachers in this group!!! Good Luck!

depending on the school and the child, it can be a great school district. (please ignore the pure negative posts.) my oldest boy goes to j.t. stevens and it suits him okay. it would suit him better if he wasn't so special needs. m. l. phillips, on the west side, is a fabulous school.

Fort Worth ISD has many great programs. There are special interest programs offered at most schools and depending on what your children at interested in would depend on what school they would attend if accepted into the program. My daughter (14) loves to dance and Arlington Heights has an amazing dance program. She went to Mary Louise Phillips and then to Monnig middle school and we had a very positive experience their. The opportunities found in Frot Worth ISD are unparralleled by many schools. Good luck and God Bless!!!!

the answer is---it depends. I am a FWISD teacher and losing my position because I don't speak Spanish--my school (on the Northside) is not offering an English speaking K next year! (and 1st the year after that etc) so check out the programing at the school ahead of time. The elementaries in Benbrook have a great reputation--Benbrook Elementary and Westpark (I think that's the name).

Hey! I grew up in Benbrook and loved it. Great houses and neighborhoods. I attended Benbrook Elementary and had no problems. I also went to Leonard Middle School, and it wasnt soo bad but it is middle school. I moved to Crowley ISD my freshman year of high school, and I will say Fort Worth was better. That was my experience, but like anything else, things could have definitly changed.
Hope this helps.

My husband and I used to live over there before we moved to Arlington, and it's true that the FWISD schools can be great, or not. The Benbrook area schools, though, are quite good. The only one people worry about is Leonard Middle School, but it's still okay. The elementaries, especially, are great!

We moved here in Jan from LA, we were a little concerned since our 11 year old son had been in the same school for his entire school years. He is attending Monnig and loves it. There is a website called greatschools.com. We spent many hours there we visited schools all over the area because we were not tied to Ft Worth because my husband has several offices from Mansfield to NRH. Monnig was the only public middle school we were impressed with. The office staff, faculty, principals, students and support staff all seemed happy to be there. Other schools people were grouchy and seemed generally unhappy including students. Our son loves it there and has made a lot of nice friends. Good luck with your move.
