Formula's

I do have a message in for our pediatrician to call me back but thought id see what other moms think also. I have 4 week old and this is my second baby. I am using the target brand formula right now and she does great with it, but my daycare provides walmarts brand parents choice. Im wondering if there is much of a difference between the two? Also has anyone ever used 2 different brands? Im pretty sure your supposed to just stick to one kind but didnt know if they are the same could i use the parents choice for daycare and target brand at home, or should i switch or just stick with the target brand since i know she does good with it. It would be nice to save a little money but its not a real big deal to just stay with what works also. Just looking for your opinion on the formulas. Thanks moms!!

What can I do next?

ummmm...I would toss both, have you read the ingredients in these? I wouldn't even drink them, least of all give them to my new baby. Try a natural one from a health food store. I'm sire they cost more, but this is your baby & it's very important what you feed her.

Stick to just one brand. If she does start to have issues you'll be able to pinpoint what the cause is faster. Just bring in your own and have the daycare use that. I've never heard of a daycare providing a generic formula for all babies. I'd bring my own so I could also monitor that it is not expired, etc.

It should be fine. I use Target brand, with my 2nd, but my first, I only used name brand. I was told by our pediatrition that formula's have to meet standards set by the gov. It has the same nutritional values as name brand. I am so glad we switched. We save lots of money.

I used the Target and Walmart versions of the Enfamil Gentlease. It always just depended on which store I was at. But, it never bothered my son at all. I would say it's fine as long as it's the Walmart and Target version of the SAME formula. For example........I wouldn't use the Walmart version of Enfamil Gentlease at home and the Target version of the Enfamil A.R. at school. But, as long as it's target's and walmart's version of the SAME formula, I think it's ok. At least...........it was for mine. =0)

I used the Walmart brand for both kids. It has 100% the same nutrients as Enfamil. My friend used Target brand. You can switch, the main thing you want to do is stay with a consistent formula and not go back and forth between different kinds.

I agree with Alma. I wouldn't drink commercial formula, so why would I feed it to a baby? If you can't or won't breastfeed, please consider a brand that is more natural, and preferably organic. If you can't/won't do that, please, please, please stay away from the kind of formula that is pre-mixed, as the cans are lined with a neurotoxic plastic called Bisphenol-A (or BPA), which is quite possibly a factor in the huge rise in autism/Asperger's syndrome/ADHD diagnoses.
