Start by mixing a small amount of formula in with mostly breast milk, and than slowly increase the ratio to give her time to get used to the different flavors. This is how I switched mine from formula to milk. They took both breast and formula from birth, and did fine switching back and forth, although they both weened early, at around 3 months.

My kids both had soy formula - but I could only get them to take it once I was really ready to give up breastfeeding. What I did was SLOWLY start mixing a tiny bit of formula in, and gradually increase it about every 3 days. So week one - 7 1/2 ounces breastmilk to 1/2 ounce formula. Midweek on week one - 7 ounces breastmilk to 1 ounce formula. Etc., etc, until we were down to 1 ounce and then I just switched them. With both of my kids I couldn't switch too fast or they would rebel. It must be an acquired taste! You might want to try this method even though you are not stopping the breastfeeding - it may still work for your child. They are such different tastes - the breastmilk is very sweet - I think that's why my kids wanted milk or nothing. But once my youngest got hooked on soy - she just LOVED it.

I agree. Just start her slowly. Hopefully eventually she'll grow to like the taste.

Depends on how old Leah is and how much supplementing you are planning, a great option is goat milk. It is most like breast milk and tastes much better than formula.
