Formula Choices at Plano Presby

Has anyone who recently had a baby at Plano Presby know if they offer Enfamil at the hospital? I am planning on BFing, but curious in case I have BF issues like I had with my last baby.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi N.,

Yep yep, Plano Presby uses Enfamil Lipil.

Good luck on your up-coming delivery!

Hi N.,

I am a SAHM in Allen. I had my first boy (now 3) at Presby Plano and my second at North Central in McKinney (now 17 months). Prseby Plano will provide you with your choice on formula. They will suggest Similac, which is what I used, but will also provide you with enfamil if you ask for it. Also, my pediatrician told me that there was very little difference between the two so you can easily switch from one to the other if you need to which was a surprise to me because so many other moms had told me you could not do this. Hope this helps!

Yes, just tell the nurses before they bring the baby in or in the delivery room. That's what I did. They also have wonderful lactation consultants that you can contact at any point ahead of time to talk about your options. I wasn't able to b/feed and they were great to talk to about it.

I had my daughter at Presby Plano last May and yes, Enfamil was the formula they put her on. I can't remember if they asked what I preferred...I think they did. I know I wanted to use Enfamil. I hope this helps!

Yes, I had a baby girl last May @ Plano Presby and I had to supplement feed and it was the small bottles of mixed Enfamil formula. I had to continue formula after about a month of BF issues and continued to use Enfamil...just had to change to the Gentlese because we had issues with constipation.

Good luck!

I believe they have several types of formula. We received Enfamil but I also saw a mom with Similac. You or your pediatrician should just request your preference.

I know it's not the exact same location but mine were delivered at Presby of Dallas and yes they have the Enfamil Lipil. I'm pretty sure that's what all of the hospitals use but I do know that WIC has now changed to using Similac only.
Good luck to you and congrats on the new baby!
