Formula Checks...

Two questions. I know most grocery stores accept expired coupons. Do they also accept expired formula "checks." I breastfed exclusively for 6 months so now I am starting to use a little formula, it seems a lot of my stash has expired. Also, I have a ton more Enfamil (that are still valid) than Similac, but my daughter does best on Similac. Is there a good place to find people to trade with? Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Good tips everyone. Every bit helps. I did use one at Kroger yesterday and they took it fine. I do need to go and check out Costco and WalMart though.

I don't think that most cashiers even look at the date. It wouldn't hurt to try it, all they can do is tell you no. Walmart usually has the best price on Similac. Another thing I did was to re-register on the similac website. They stopped sending me the checks after about 6 months so I just signed up again and they started sending them again. You can sign your relatives up too and they can pass the checks on to you. My MIL did this for me. You can also try Ebay...they always have a ton of checks and coupons on there. I've sold some myself. It doesn't matter whose name is on the checks. Also when your daughter gets 9 months old you can switch to the second stage formula which is a lot cheaper. $18 vs $26 a can.

I use Enfamil and I have some checks from Similac. They have my name on them, though, so hopefully that wouldn't be a problem. I'd be happy to trade with you if you want. Send me your address and I'll send you mine if you are interested.

I went to Costco yesterday(where the formula is cheapest for a large amount) but they wouldn't take my manufacturer's coupons b/c they weren't made out to Costco!!! I have used them before so this made me angry that they have this new policy. But...Enfamil is $32.00 for a 38 ounce can(the biggest you can get) and they have sale's all the time so I got it for $28.00 a can yesterday. I don't think you can buy this cheaper anywhere else. They do have Similac, too. I am pretty sure Sam's Club has the same prices and larger cans. But, I know the grocery stores are most expensive and then Target and Walmart are the next best price to Costco/Sams.

Hope this helps!

If you have a neighbor or relative nearby, I'd have them sign up too for the similac program. That helped a lot for us! That way we always had a coupon stash on hand when we went shopping for similac.
