Summer is almost here and as soon as I start wearing the cute sandals and flip flops my feet and especially heels get sooo dry and cracked. It was so bad last year I actually saw the doctor because I thought it was some sort of athlete's foot or something. She told me no, but need to keep moisturized. I have a bunch of creams and lotions, I know there are tons more out there that I haven't tried. I have the pumice and I currently try to put lotion on right after the shower and before bed (with socks if it is cool enough). Anybody have a great lotion that they use and would recommend? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for your responses! I am going to try some of the creams you recommended. I really wanted to buy something that I knew was going to work.

I have always used Miracle Foot Repair. I get it at Bed Bath and Beyond, and it isn't to expensive. I have also used aquaphore, but its messy like Vaseline!

Udder Cream is great.
Cracked heels are also a great excuse to go and get yourself a pedi every 2 weeks! :-)

There's a lot of expensive cremes that claim to be so fantastic that are a gimmick in most ways.

Good ole Vaseline, vitamin e oil work great. Also, a must is treating yourself to a pedicure more often in the summertime.

I have the same problem. I'll be watching your post! The only thing I've used is a hand/foot cream and I have to do it EVERY day in the morning and at bedtime plus use the pumice stone a few times a week, and it does help.

I just bought a product called Heel Tastic last night at Wallgreen and I have also seen it at Target. It was $9.99 and I have only used it once (last night) but my feel already look and feel a lot better. It smells pretty good like Lemon Grass.

I've heard great things about Udder Cream.

We're die-hard believers in both Aquaphor (you'd want to put on and then cover with socks overnight to allow it to penetrate without getting everything else greasy) and Vanicream.

Vanicream was recommended by our dermatologist and is OTC. It is a little trickier to find, but most Walgreen's have it. Any pharmacy can order it for you. A big tub costs ~$10.

T.,
Avon has some great foot products called Foot Works. The Overnight Renewal Foot Cream and the Deep Moisture Cream are great. They also have a foot mask to restore moisture. Get ahold of your local Avon Rep and they will be able to help you.

I have a lotion that would work great for you. It' s part of a health and wellness company. If you are interested, let me know.
Also, have you tried Vaseline? It's a pain, but it does work.
Can you afford to go have them done professionally. I have a friend that does that every year.......in the summer. Her feet do the same thing.
I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I don't know if it'll work but usually amazon reviewers are pretty on the mark :)

You are not going to believe this but the best foot cream is Extra virgin coconut oil. I put it on before bed and then put socks on.
I post about coconut oil all the time, just because it's so good for so many things! I put it on my kids feet at night, periodically, because they have diabetes and we are poking their fingers and toes several times daily to get blood sugar readings. Their feet and hands get dry from the alcohol swabs and coconut oil helps so much.

I soak my feet in epsom salts, vinegar and warm water every few weeks. The dead skin gets all soft and come off very easily with a pumice stone or a foot rasp. Once the dead skin is off, any lotion that seals in moisture will slow down the dead skin build up.
