Follow up to Wii Question
Hello,
I'm kind of piggybacking on Rebecca's question regarding the Wii. For those of you that have one, can you recommend some of your favorite, most interactive games? We have a Wii but I get so overwhelmed when trying to pick games for the whole family. My kids are 5.5 and 3.5 years old.

My all time favorite game is WarioWare Smooth Moves, it is funny, fast paced, and has a lot of variety. My kids love it as well-they are nine and 5. My kids favorite games are the Lego ones-Indiana Jones, Batman, and Starwars. Mario Kart and Mario Party games are also fun.

Hello! We just got a Wii this summer. I have 3 kids 9,6 and 4. We like Wii Sports, which comes with the system. For family games, my favorite is Mario Kart. My 4-yr old daughter can play no problem, and it is a lot of fun. You do want to get the steering wheels, because it is much easier to play. We also like Mario Party 8. It's like a video board game, with mini-game challenges. I do have Wii Play, which came with the extra remote, but we hardly play that at all.
The next one we're dying to get is Rock Band 2 (complete set). We played a friend's on PS3 and loved it. But, my kids are a little older. Truthfully, my husband and I had the most fun with that one!
If you want to try out games, I recommend getting them used from Gamestop. They won't be much cheaper than new ($5), but they are guaranteed to work and you can return them if you don't like them. They give you 7 days, so enough time to see if you like it.
Have fun!

My kids are a little older (11,11,&15) but we really have a lot of fun with the Wii Party Games 1&2. They are both 4 player games so we can all play together. The original Party Games is $19.99 and the new Party Games 2 is $29.99 so they are also a little easier on the budget. You can find both at Wal-Mart.
Another game our whole family loves is Animal Crossing and the new version for the Wii come out in Nov. some time. We have already pre-ordered that one for Christmas. My kids have been playing Animal Crossing for years so your 5/6 yr. old should be able to do ok. The 3/4 yr. old may need help although kids these days seem to catch on quicker than I do.
Hope this helps.

Boom Blox (wii)
Made in collaboration with Steven Spielberg, players of all ages compete in over a hundred challenging, action-packed interactive games that take blocks to a new level of creativity and fun for single player, co-op, and versus gameplay. Additionally, use the Wii remote to build your own fun games and structures or turn the same Wii remote into a destructive tool to bring them crashing down.
Genre: Puzzle

I would have to say I agree with the MarioKart suggestion. I have 3 girls (close to your kids' ages)and they absolutely love it. We also have Guitar Hero - I think I play it more than they do :). We have Hannah Montana, HSM, Sports and I am dying to get wii fit. We play it as a family. Even my youngest who's 4 plays it) We also have family and friends that live in Utah and you can set it up to play them at the same time. So if they are ever missing their friends, they can play with them without being there. It's worked great for us and I think it was one of the best purchases we made.
Good luck!

We LOVE Wii sports, which often comes with the purchase of a Wii. We have 4-5 other games, but my kids (and us, and their grandparents) ALWAYS revert back to Wii sports to bowl, play baseball, and tennis. Its the most physical of the games we have, and we all end up liking it the most.

Hi.
I think that Mario Kart (it's best to get the steering wheel) and Boom Blox are great for kids that age. My 8 year old daughter of course loves her Hannah Montana Game!!!
