Flower Girl Dress RENTALS

My 5 & 3 year old daughters are going to be in my sil's wedding in November. The only direction I have received is that she would like them to be black. My girls hate black and I would really like to NOT purchase a dress that they will not want to wear again. Does anyone know of a place that will RENT flower girl dresses? I only need these things for a few hours and I don't feel that the girls (who love their pastels) will want to wear them again. We are also renting tuxedos for my husband and son, who will be the ring bearer.

Any help would be great.

What can I do next?

Maybe try to get them second-hand? There are usually formal-type dresses at Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child, and there is also a large consignment sale this weekend in Grapevine called Divine Consign. Hours and directions on their website. My daughter is almost two, and we buy her holiday dresses at places like this, because usually she only wears them once. I found a black "velvet" dress with silver snowflakes for Christmas at one of these sales for $7 and she'll wear it for the holidays, then we'll sell it or pass it on. Hope that helps.

It has been a while since I have been there, but there used to be a place in Addison on Beltway Drive called Lasting Impressions. They rented bridal gowns, prom dresses, mother of the bride dresses, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses . . . well you get the picture.

We rented my daughter's prom dress there her junior year and it was the perfect scenario. She got a fabulous dress, and I didn't have to buy a dress she would never wear again.

You might see if they are still there and have something that will fit your needs.

it may be a tough job...heck even finding them to buy could be a search. One suggestion though is to maybe honor her wish for black in whatever way you can, which you are trying to do, but if you can't find them to borrow or rent then buy them...maybe you could find a cut black dress with perhaps a band of pastel flowers around the waist....or some little embroidered ones on the dress. In the long run if you have to purchase dresses how about just getting what you find (that you can afford) then taking them to a resale shop to dispose of after the wedding and perhaps you can recoup a little of your cost that way. good luck! and what an honor for your little girls to be in the wedding! My daughter was a flower girl at just barely two and still remembers it at the age of 13~!

Try some thrift stores or just tell your SIL to find another flower girl if you aren't willing to honor her wishes. It is her wedding and she deserves your honesty now and not you ruining the wedding on her wedding day.

It's surprising but Norstroms has beautiful little girl dresses at very affordable prices. I got one for my 6 year old last year for my niece's wedding. It was black velvet with pink trim and I want to say it was $38.

For the price you would pay to possibly rent them you could probably get a very inexpensive one at Celebration (I think that's the name) in the shopping center with Sam Moon on Harry Hines and 635. My niece is a flower girl in a wedding, and my sister-in-law found a dress on ebay (it had been worn once as I am sure yours will be) and it was a bargain (under $20). Hope that helps...good luck!

I don't know about a rental place, but I would check Wedding Consignment shops and even Kid-to-Kid or other second hand kid clothing stores. You maybe able to find something you are looking for and it maybe cheaper than a rental.
