I use the Chi and love it. They are expensive but my hair is in much better shape now that I don't use my less expensive flat iron.

If you are going to buy one of the more expensive ones, wait until Ulta has a coupon. I bought a Sedu from there using a 20% off coupon, and spent under 90.00. Also, you can enroll in the Ulta membership and get lots of points from such a large purchase that can be redeemed for free items in the store later.

I use a Chi which costs around $110 - definately do not buy the cheap flat irons out there b/c they aren't the best quality and you'll most likely end up buying an expensive one in the end. Believe me, it's definately worth the investment.

I made the mistake of buying cheaper flattening irons that never worked...then I bought my Chi. It is SO worth every penny. I have had it for over a year and have had no problems...Ive dropped it on the floor, its been in my suitcase for trips, still works great. Watch your fingers it gets HOT!
PS I love flattening iron spray from Toni and Guy.

One thing I'm known for by my friends is that I research everything before I make a decision. Choosing a flat iron was no different. I had always heard good things about a chi until I really started researching and more than half of the responses said theirs messed up or broke in some way or another not too long after getting it (and to top it off a return was never accepted). I saw this over and over again and began seeing Sedu around a lot and being compared to a chi with almost 100% positive feedback. I got that one about 4 years ago and love it. I have since tried to use a chi when I forgot mine, and the chi did nothing for my hair. It was too small and didn't get hot enough for my thick, coarse hair. I absolutely LOVE the Sedu, and the price is about the same as a chi. My chi-loving friends have almost all changed to Sedu after trying mine.
When I research I also bargain hunt, and Folica is the cheapest place I've found it http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1560.html Good luck!

I have used the chi brand for years. I have had really long and really short hair (and everything in between) and loved it on all styles. My first one lasted a couple years and used it daily. The second has been with me longer but I don't use it full time any more.
Please use the proper products or you will really damage your hair. My sister never uses the right products and I hate to look at her damaged hair. It makes me sad!

Whatever you do, make sure that you protect your hair with a product like Smooth and Shine by TIGI/toni and guy. We see people everyday who have cooked their hair. If you can't find it, write me back-we carry it. Hope this helps.

P. S. you put this on your hair after you blow dry, but before you flatiron.
