First Fathers Day

For my husband's first Father's Day (our daughter was due on Father's Day but she missed it), I bought a children's book that I knew he'd love to read to her and wrote a note from her, "I look forward to many hours of reading together. Perhaps we can start with this."

This worked for our family because we read together often. However, if you guys are into sports perhaps you could give him a ball for him to play with with the baby.

With the birth of our first I got a jewelry box (guy junk catch all) from the keepsake store at the mall. I had the top of it engraved to say I Love You Daddy. He still has this on his nightstand. With the birth of our second I got the "My dad is best hands down" t shirt at Walmart and had my daughter put her hand prints on it, and my son (who was just a few weeks old) put his foot prints on it. My youngest just turned 7 and my husband still wears that t shirt with baby footprints. :)

I ordered a cute handprint kit from redenvelope.com; put the babys hand and footprints in it, put a picture of her and daddy in the center and signed/dated it "My First Father's Day" - he loves it and it hangs in our living room now. Good luck!

Lets see. I found a photo frame that said our first father's day. I put a picture of my daughter and my husband in it. However, since your baby girl isn't here yet, maybe you could put a sono picture in it if you have one. I also bought my husband a Dad ring. If your husband would wear it you could get that for him. They aren't that expensive and most department stores carry them around this time of year. I know Walmart usually does. Good luck and enjoy this time with your husband.

Write him a note/poem/song telling him why you decided for him to be the father of your chidren, and then frame it!
Compliment it the ocassion with a nice candle light dinner.
