I can not believe my little man is almost 1! I am having problems figuring out what to get him and what ideas to give people who ask! He has a big sister who is almost 5 so we have some stuff that was hers that we saved like blocks, little people ext. I would love any ideas you wonderful mamas can give me! would love non toy/non clothes ideas! Some info that may help with suggestions -- he likes Thomas the Train, he walks already, we are curently in a small in apt so unfortunatly no swing set (though we hope that by christmas we will be moving and can get one), we are a military family and probally moving by the end of the year so something like a zoo membership wouldnt work very well either. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My favorite first birthday gift to give is the Fisher Price Corn Popper!!! OMG kids love it. Parents not so much LOL. So I doubt you would buy it for him. Ride on toys are good. They do not have to be big ones, just one that
he could sit on and use his feet to move.

I received and liked so much that I also gifted a feeding set. Ours was from IKEA - a plate with an edge, a bowl, a sipper cup and a set of kid silverware. I would never have thought to get it for a 1 yr old, but someone got a set for THEIR kid, so they gave that to DD and I just gave it to my nephew.

I also agree with the ball popper. She loved it and other people loved helping her play with it.

The biggest hit with our son (and every other child 6 mos-4 years) has been the fisher price lil zoomers spinnin sounds speedway. He ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!! He is now 2.5 yrs and still plays with it! We also liked the bounce cow he received for his 1st bday. He still plays with it and it is really durable. I included both links to amazon below so you can check them out. Best of luck on a wonderful bday for your little man:)

At one, I doubt he cares much! lol.

Although... I got my DD a dry-erase table when she was about 1.5, and she LOVES that thing and still uses it. I can't remember if it came in a Thomas theme, but it does come in Cars. I used dry-erase crayons instead of markers.

You might also get him a bubble mower! My DD LOVES pushing hers, and when we go to the park we always see a little boy with one. It's funny, because he will push it, and have an entire herd of kids chasing him to pop the bubbles. Even in an apartment, he can push it along the sidewalks or on the 'community lawn' if you have one. :)

I'll tell you that 9 years later O. of the FEW 1st birthday gifts I can remember my son getting was O. of those really cute 1st Birthday Hats from my BFF. I thought it was frivolous and over the top--but I still have the hat AND the pictures!

Kind of like these:
