Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get a creative cake for my daughters first birthday? I am looking for a "Peanut" cake since that is what we have called her since the day she was born. I've already looked at Charm City Cakes but they are booked through 2009.
Thank You

Have you tried the Sweet bakery in old town Ellicott City? Formerly known as Fishers. They might be able to help.

Try Sugarbakers in Catonsville. They are a GREAT bakery- we get all of our cakes from them and can usually do whatever we ask.

V.,
A close friend of mine makes the best cakes! I'm not just saying this because she's my friend, I promise! She even throws in a free mini-round cake (with the purchase of a standard cake) for 1st birthday babies to tear up! Just Check out her website http://kanescakes.com/
She has pictures (several of which are cakes for my kids!), pricings, and other info.
Good luck,
Katie

Hi V.,

I work with someone who does incredible cakes. How many people are you looking to serve? And, what date in May are you looking at? I can e-mail you a photo of a cake he did for our Christmas party. ____@____.com

I do creative cake decorating, and there is a "peanuts cake pan" from wilton ware.com....it is so easy to decorate...i do all my grandkids cake's and don't follow directions exactly....but the idea is there..if not then make a big oblong cake and cut it to look like a peanut and decorate with yellow icing and chocolate chips for the indentations...where do you live? I live in reisterstown.

Hi V.,
I would try your local warehouse club, like Sams club, or Bj[which are the two in my area]. I have purchased all of my cakes from Sams club, & they do all kinds of custom made cakes!! The time frame may vary from store to store, but with Sams you would have to give a weeks notice. Try it out!! I have yet to be disapointed!!

Lots of Luck,

N. Shuron [Catonsville area, Mom to Sydney 6 & Dean 2]

Have you tried Cake Love on Boston Ave. (next to the Safeway complex in Canton). Not only do they do beautiful cakes, they are also DELICIOUS and full of good ingredients. It's our favorite cake place in the city.
Hope you have good luck - first birthdays are great!
