Finding a Good School District

Go to www.greatschools.com they give you report cards for any school that you want. They also give you parent reviews as well. I found it and was able to pick my school through that as well. Good luck!

I live in the queen creek (pinal side) Johnson ranch area. The schools out here are terrible. I put my daughter in a charter school. I like the charter school for many reasons
1. it is somewhat like a private school education but free of charge (they are still a public school)
2. The class rooms are limited my daughter has 20 children in her class if she was in normal she would have close to 40
3. The teachers are a little more flexible with teaching. My daughter is a head of the rest of her class so the teacher is giving her work to her level not to the class so she is still learning.

There are some bad points to charter schools not all have extracurricular activities & most here in the valley have some sort of waiting list.
I however would highly recommend charter schools. My daughter goes to Leading Edge Academy in Gilbert. They also have branches in Queen Creek & Mesa. They are ranked highly & got excellent ratings from the aims test.

I'm sure you can find good and bad anywhere but Gilbert Schools do have a great reputation. I live in Mesa but worked in the special needs preschool program in Gilbert for awhile. Hopefully you would not need to worry about some of the special needs services available but those who do purposely move from all over just to be in the Gilbert District. The teachers seem content and well supported and they staff a lot of aids and assistnace who help give a lot of one on one attention where needed.

I found http://www.schoolmatters.com/ to be helpful. You can see what % the school the rated as well as demographic info and # of students per teacher, ect. Good luck!

I live near Pecos/Cooper next to CG Community College. I'd say that from my neighbors Humphrey Elem is good. But it's in the old neighborhood. However, across the street is Chandler Traditional Academy (CTA) which is a charter school but requires uniforms and gives Kindergarteners homework is in a neighborhood north of the old neighborhood. Go to the school district website and search for individual schools. http://ww2.chandler.k12.az.us/

Also, most of my friends live South Chandler which is south of Gilbert/Germann up to Riggs/Lindsay. Some kids go to Ryan Elementary and the rest to Navarette Elementary. There was a recent zone change so it will depend on where you want to go also.

I know that Kyrene School District has changed and they don't offer music/art etc and property tax is now at 42%.

Ours went up 200/year but it's still cheaper than northern california. Plus where I live now is where I moved back to twice already different house tho.

I just took my daughter out of the Roosevelt School District and put her into the Kyrene School District. She wasn't too fond of first grade until she started at Kyrene del Milenio. So far they seem very well organized and on top of things, whereas her other school was not.
