Finding a Doctor...

I would like some suggestions on finding a doctor for my 5 month old. Now we are taking her to the family practitioner that I went to as a child.

What can I do next?

HI. YOUR BEST BET WOULD BE TO CALL THE PHYSICIAN REFERRAL LINE AT THE HOSPITAL U GO TO. THERE U CAN TELL THEM WHAT INSURANCE U HAVE AND THEY CAN TELL U WHAT PED. ACCEPTS YOUR INSURANCE AND THEN CALL THE OFFICES AND MAKE AN APPT. TO SPEAK WITH THE DR. TO JUST BASICALLY INTERVIEW THEM. SEE SEVERAL DIFFERENT DOCS AND MAKE YOUR DECISION BASED ON THAT. OH AND WHILE U R WAITING TO SPEAK TO THE DOC TALK TO OTHER PARENTS WAITING AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT HIM/HER. THE PARENTS AND THEIR KIDS R THE BEST INDICATOR OF HOW GOOD A DOC THEY R.

I have the Perfect doctor for you he's out on Clev-Mass road in copley. Dr. Brian Heim. i switched to him when my son was 13 mo. he is the best family Dr. i've ever had. and the best thing is if you get pregnant agan he'll be your OBGYN too. he's fun and he actully takes the time to listen to you and answer your questions. and if something happens in the middle of the night and you call the office, he leave is pager # on the machine so you can page him. My son love him soooo much he makes up reasons to go out there, (and i live in the falls thats a 20 min drive). His office is always looking for new patients. Good Luck with your search and i hope you contact him i don't think you'll regret it. ###-###-####

I live in Akron and I go to Dr. Bacthel, his practice is in Tallmadge. My husband and I have both gone to his practice all our lives and our 2 children see Dr. Bachtel as well. He is awesome and takes his time esp on the well care visits and will answer any question you may have untill you understand it completly. All the Dr.'s and Nurses there are great. Couldn't have a better Dr. to go to.

I used to take my kids to a family practioner in the Falls...until 2 of my kids got sick-one with rotovirus and the other with asthma. They overdosed one of my kids and she ended up in Childrens for 3 days. They were appalled at the meds she was given. So here is my advice...call Childrens Hospital and ask them for their preferred dr. list. They will give you all of the offices that their dr.'s work at which go from green to medina to falls and through akron. Use one of them. They are very knowledgable in children...b/c that is all they do. You wouldnt take your horse to your dogs vet would you? Call them and ask-I have seen several of the peditritians and i love all of them.

i take my son to dr.gurrero sp*its by city hospital and the drs office is called a childerns medical group

i take my kids to childrens hospital physicians associates in fairlawn im not sure where their other offices are but i know that they do have several other offices good luck

D.,
I take my girls to Childrens Hospital Physicians Associates in Green (on Rt 619). They have several other offices, too, so there may be one closer to you. My girls see Dr. Hood there, but all of the doctors seem great. It's a large practice so there is always a doctor available, even if your primary physician is booked or out of the office. They also have evening and Saturday office hours for sick kids. We've been going there for 7 years, and have been very happy with them.
