My husband and I just started using John Karpinsky at Advanced Wealth in Minneapolis. So far we have been impressed with how through he has been from reviewing our 401Ks, IRAs, 529 for the kids, insurance needs, and most importantly wills and estate planning. My parents have also used him for years and have been quite happy. Since we just started with him I can't say if he will bring us more money on our investments but so far he has been worth getting him just to get our whole financial picture organized. Okay, I know its not quite in your requested area, but we have been very happy with Jeremy Dobson (Ameriprise Financial) in New Brighton. Its a bit of a drive for us, but he really seems to be good.

I would recommend Scott Walsh with Ameriprise Financial. He is in the Plymouth area (hopefully not too much farther than Edina!)
