I just wanted to see if there were any other moms with fibromyalgia. I have a 2 year old son and would like to meet some moms facing the same issues we have.

What can I do next?

I'm a single mom with a full time job and I have Fibromyalgia. Everyday is a struggle for me. I have to agree on the aspartame thing. And yoga helps a lot with the pain. Feel free to email me. Sometimes it's good just to have someone who understands what you're going through to vent to.

I have it and have two toddlers and two teenagers. Do you have a certain area that you would like to discuss? Just email me and maybe we can hash something out.

Hi Brenda.
My neighbor has fibromyalgia and I shared a product called OPC3 with him. He says it helps him a great deal. OPC3 fights free radicals. The first thing your immume system does is fights free radicals so if you are taking OPC3 and it's fighting the free radicals, it frees your immune system up to fight sickness and disease. It is an amazing product. It helps 96 different diseases from fibromyalgia to alergies to arthritis, colds, lyme disease, ms, aches and pains. You name it, I bet it can help. Let me know if you would like some more info on it
Hang in there.

I'm sorry, I don't, but whenever I hear about someone having fibromyalgia, I always feel like I have to say something. My friend was only 30 when she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She was absolutely in agony, not only from the pain, but also from not being able to live out her life with the same quality she was used to. So, she had one doctor tell her to completely, 100%, cut out gluten. It was really hard at first, but after about a week of trying the new diet, she was symptom free!!!!!!! Doctors haven't said it officially yet, but some are beginning to believe that fibromyalgia could be linked to an allergy to a food that for reasons such as trauma, both mental or physical, or surgery, could activate within us, when before the incident, our body handled the specific allergen without problem. This is just something that her dr. had told her that she was being to notice, and that other doctor friends of her were watching for it also. A gluten free diet IS hard at first, but once she got used to it, she realized that it's actually not hard, once you know what to buy. Almost everything we eat on a normal basis can now be bought gluten free, even some restaurants now have a gluten free section in their menu. So, I just wanted to tell you about this, because if it can keep you symptom free, it's DEFINITELY worth a shot, and if it doesn't work, maybe look or ask about other things that people have found that have brought on fibromyalgia. And just so you know, even now, 3 years later of being symptom free, if she has chili from Wendys, bread from a restaurant, and many other things that I could mention, she gets swollen and ends up being in pain within hours. Her doctor believes her gluten allergy came about due to a really rough year physically. She broke her ankle really bad in the springtime, and then right after she had the cast removed, she was having stomach pain and was rushed to the ER to find out her appendix needed removed. Once she recovered from surgery, she found that she was feeling really really bad all the time, and this was when she received her fibromyalgia diagnosis, months afterwards. She was on all kinds of medicine for it at first, but since she cut out gluten, NO MEDS AND NO PAIN AT ALL

Hi Brenda, I have fibro too. I want to say I agree with the poster who said to get off the Aspertame, that stuff gave me migraines, and quitting really helped me, I also quit all stimulants, like Caffienne. So although I refused to take prescriptions for my condition, I sought relief, through alternate measures ( Natural supplements), and I have found that "Malic acid" as suggested in a natural remedy journal has helped me alot. In fact when I don't take it for a few days, I become acutely aware of just how much it helps me. The thing about Fibro, is that it is different for everyone, and we all react in a different way to the same remedy. What works for one often doesn't work for another.People with Fibro, are supposed to do moderate exercise regularly, daily if possible. I teach Yoga, so that is my main source of moderate exercise , but I also walk. Don't do intense exercise as it only makes things worse. Good luck finding what works for you! Blessings, S.

Hi Brenda,

I'm a 33 year old Mom of 2 who lives with severe Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Two years ago, I had to stop working, as my symptoms where too severe to continue. This is certainly a life changing illness, and I hope you find some comfort in knowing that you are not alone, and others understand what you are going through. Parenting is a hard job, and parenting with chronic illness is even more of a challenge ;)

You are welcome to visit me at my blog, if you are interested in reading more about my experiences and journey with FMS & CFS.

Hope today is one with low pain, and high energy ;)

Hey Brenda!
I don't have fibromyalgia, but I do have a question for you....Do you drink Diet Cokes, or use Equal or aspartame? I use to and my joints ached continually. My Mom kept telling me that aspartame is really bad for you (yeah yeah, I know is what I would say) and then I had to have surgery and did not have any aspartame for a few weeks and I felt sooooo much better, so I have eliminated aspartame from our household (you have to read every label, including gum that is NOT sugar free). We use splenda or stevia now and I feel so much better. I was just wondering there was a connection to aspartame and joint/muscle pain.
Blessings to you and youes,
K.

Hi Brenda, I had/have Fibro. I say had/have because I had severe symptoms a few years back, today (thank God) I am able to do things like normal...for the most part. I still have some symptoms, but the worst ones have gone (for now). I'm not sure what made them go because I was so desperate I tried many things to try to relieve the pain, that I'm not sure which thing helped, but I can tell you of the things I did. I felt so alone when it was severe...it was a nightmare. I went broke trying to find the right thing to help. If you need someone to talk to, please feel free to email me. I live in Sugar Land (near Houston).
