Hi Moms-

I was diagnosied with Fibromyalgia when I was 18 and the symptoms lessened over the years but after 2 kids, my body seems to be in constant pain. As such, my Doctor has begun treating me for the pain with Lyrica.

I am wondering if there are any other Mom's out there who are dealing with this and if you have taken Lyrica or if there is something else that has worked, like Chiropractic care, suppliments, or other herbal treatments.

As a side note, I took my first dose last night and had the best sleep in years. I am hoping that you can share your experiences with me and let me know if there is anything that I can do to get rid of the aches and pains.

Thanks, in advance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
N.

I have suffered with pain for years and was just recently diagonosed with Fibro. I started with a Chiropractor and found some of pain was from other issues, such as arthritis in my back. Then I started with a massage therapist who has been the best thing I ever did. The pain is now tolerable. Pain meds never worked for me and I heard horrible things about Lyrica, so that made me try the above. I beleive everyone is different and you need to find what is right for you. I used to think I was going crazy and a hypocondriac. I now have proof I am not going crazy and a wonderful dr. who beleives no one should live in pain.

I will have to totally agree with another poster about the foods you eat and the quality of vitamins that you take. I am an educator of health and wellness. Fibromyalgia is inflammation that causes pain, correct? Omega 3 oils have been proved to reduce inflammation and has significantly helped those with this condition, asthma and other inflammatory conditions. By changing your diet, eliminating processed foods, sugars, flours and eating fresh veggies, fruits and whole grains plus taking good vitamins that give the body what it needs to function properly, you will well be on your way to feeling better. Even if you must use some medication, changing your eating habits, drinking water and green tea, adding Omega 3 oils whether by fish and supplements is essential! I would be happy to provide you with more information on botanically based vitamins and products. It is very true about what you put in and on your body will have effects on your long term health. I wish you the best and do your research too. The internet is a wonderful source of good information but you need to take care of yourself so that you have the strength to take care of your family! All the best!

Hi N.,
I have not had this problem but when it comes to alternatives to medicine I can make some suggestions for you. I have business partners who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. 2 of them are no longer on meds thanks to the supplements offered by a wellness company who has focused on physical wellness over the past 22 years. Are you available to join me for a wellness conference call/webcast? It's free and you don't have to leave your home. Only 30 minutes online and over the phone, these women share their stories and provide some valuable information you can use. Below is a bit of bio on my partner Jacque. Jacque was very rude when someone called her initially about this company. I think when people are dealing with health issues, the last thing they want is to try something new. Yet, they are seeking something better. Sometimes someting better comes in the form of something new. I really applaud your seeking something better and new for yourself.

Jacque does a very special call on Tuesdays at 7:30 EST - on Autoimmune disease. If you know anyone with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, etc. Please bring your guests on to this informative discussion and learn what most Doctors DON'T tell you! If you'd like to be my guest, please let me know via mamasource or you may reach me at ###-###-####.

Best,

M.

Dear N.

If you are interested in alternative therapy I invite you to do some research & consider hypnosis for help with fibromyalgia. Hypnosis has helped me with everything from childbirth to resolving 30 years of chronic illness. Pain is a message from your mind/body. When you learn to listen & respond you may find you no longer experience recurring physical discomfort.
Wishing you wellness.

N., I don't know if you've seen a chiropractor yet or not but you should. I am one and have had great success treating people with chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia. I do adjustments, massage, physical therapy and acupuncture. If you have any questions just let me know.

My mother has Fibro also... she has stopped taking the Lyrica because of the very vivid dreams she was having although it definately helped her sleep better but she would wake up in a state of panic. So after that not working for her she altered her diet... she now avoids yeast as much as possible, 1-2 slices of toast MAX a day but now whole grain, eliminated cheeses and processed meats (lunch meats) and other processed foods and red wines. She tries to mostly shop the outer edges of the store and avoid the aisles with all the "goodies" :) She makes sure she uses atleast 2 tbs of healthy oils daily as that helps to retain the nutrients in the healthy foods she has started to eat. And she is finally drinking water- with Crystal light in it. If you are dehydrated you will feel more pain. She has also started to take a probiotic= not sure what it is but she swears by it and is trying to get me to take it!

She has also had her B12 levels tested and found those to be low, I guess that is common with Fibro patients. She now also takes a sublingual supplement after she did a course of shots from the DR. Might want to have that checked.

My mother was barely able to walk last summer and we had to rent a wheelchair to go to the zoo... now I can barely keep up with her! Her fibro-fog is also very noticeably reduced and she can have conversations again without forgetting what she is talking about... so nice to have my Mom and my kids Grandma back!

I wish you much luck with whatever you choose to do. Many blessings to you!

Dear N.;

Now promise me you won't think I am crazy for what I am about to tell you. My name is M. and I want to tell you about a product I am just involved with. I don't want to think you even have to get it from me, I just want to help share my knowledge. I am marketing Xocai, it is a Healthy chocolate. I actually have testimonials from people with Fibromyalgia who have big health improvements from consuming it at least three times a day. Don't take my word, just google Dark chocolate Fibromayagia. That is where I first discovered it. This chocolate is packed with antioxidants and tastes great(enjoy every piece). This chocolate is different, it is a Patented Cold Pressed(no heat added to loses antioxidants) Chocolate used to be taken for medicine, thousands of years ago. Take a look at the company, www.myershealthychocolate.com Also take a look at www.mydrchocolate.com read testimonials. I would be happy to send you some hard copies and a sample. But don't feel obligated to order from me, I just am trying to share my knowledge and hoping it will help somebody. Good luck. M.
