Fibroids - Addison,MI

My husband and I have a little dude who is 14 mths old, and we would like to have another. It took over a year before I got pregnant with Wolfgang, and he was born c-section, at which time I was informed I have fibroids. I have been off the pill for about 5 months now, and no luck. I wonder if the fibroids have gotten bigger? I'm afraid as much as we'd like to, we may not have another little one. Then again, it might take a while. Has anyone had any experience with this?

What can I do next?

Hi there, Since it took a year to get pg before it may take that long this time too. I don't know much about fibroids but I do know about c-sections and all the little things that they don't tell you, including an increased risk of secondary infertility. Hopefully that is not what you are experiencing. If you'd like more info go to www.ican-online.org

Hi D.,

I don't know a lot about fibroids but a friend of mine had a huge one (it weighed 8 pounds and she looked very pregnant). She went to three different Gynecologists before finding one that said she had options other than a hysterectomy. The third doctor told her that he would operate and do everything he could to save her reproductive parts. He managed to save everything except one falopian tube. She is not at the point in her life that she wants to try having children yet but she has been told that it is very possible. The doctor that did her surgery took the time to give her options rather than just shoving her through with whatever seemed easiest. My advice to anyone with Fibroids is to always get a second or even third opinion!

I have had Fibroids for over 20 years and I have had 3 children without any problems and my oldest is 14 years old.
In my experience, my Fibroids are more of a periodic annoyance than anything, they just occasionally make my monthly cramps a bit more painful, but nothing unmanageable. They are not harm full and not in the way of anything for me and mine have not grown bigger at all over the years.

Your OB/GYN can tell you how big they are and if they are in the way of having more children.

My personal opinion is that I don't think that they are anything to really worry about, but if your concerned, talk to your OB/GYN about them.

Hi D.,

When I was preg I found out that I have 2 fibroids. We have been trying to have a 2nd child for 3 years now. I did have my fibroids checked with an Ultra Sound to make sure they aren't the source of our problem.

If you go longer than 6 months of trying go and see your Dr about this.

If you have any more questions just let me know.

Hi D., My name is Kim and I am a stay at home mom of a 9mth son. It took us 5 years, 5 IUI's and a miscarriage before we had our little angel. I agree that staying at home does get boring at times, but it is soooo rewarding to watch him grow and change. I'm also happily married to my highschool sweetheart and have been for 8yrs. I would love to talk more about our fertility problems.
