Fertility Issues - West Haven,CT
I am new to this type of thing and my husband and I just started to go to a fertility clinic. We had a d&c last september at 11 weeks and have been trying since December 08 to concieve. I'm freaking out. They said I'm not ovulating. How can I make myself ovulate naturally? I'm super nervous to try hormones or anything. Thanks for reading this.

If you are overweight, losing weight can help.
If you are normal weight drinking whole milk vs. skim milk can improve fertility (sounds strange, right?).

at one point of our infertility (about 2 years in) i stopped ovulating. it was never a problem before but it just developed. turns out it was probably because my thyroid was getting out of whack, so make sure you have that tested!!
as far as tracking your ovulation yourself - check out www.fertilityfriend.com! the methods it suggests really gets you in touch with the things your body does naturally. They also have an online "course" through email that i learned a lot from! You'll be able to tell at home if you're ovulating! Also using ovulation test strips works well - they're very accurate!
I don't know much about natural ways to get your body to ovulate without meds (for what its worth, i had no problem at all on the hormone meds! i took them i think 5 different cycles). A few people i know have suggested accupuncture and i've heard from many sources that it works well for several fertility problems. I'd assume ovulation is probably one of them.
if you have any questions about tracking your fertility or about the meds feel free to message me :)
good luck!! i know what a rocky road fertility problems can be.

So sorry your going through this, I know how very difficult it can be. We had 2 miscarrages then was told I was no longer ovulating, and drs recommended starting clomid, which helps ovulation and is suppose to help incresses all hormones to support a pregancy. I was terrified to try the drugs and terrified to even start tring again after the nightmares we had already went through. We dicided to go for it and the second month it worked, I was still terrified. I was so worried that I was going to miscarry again. But after all of that I had a healty baby boy who is now almost 4 and we also have a 1 year old girl all thanks to clomid and some wonderfull Dr.s. I hope this helps ease your mind if you do go for the fertility drugs. I had no real side effects, maybe a little moody durning the treatment, but it was worth it to finally have my babies. You asked about naturally helping ovulation, the only advice I have is try not to worry, stress can deffinatly make you stop ovulating. I wish you the best of luck!

why don't you try acupuncture? it can help regulate your system. Also make sure you are not too thin or exercising too much, this can stop ovulation. good luck

L.,
I went through the infertility problems and went up to UConn Medical Center and saw Dr. Deborah Metzger who helped me beyond words. Unfortunately she is now in CA but does consults. I also used Dr. Randall Kaump, my ob/gyn who has offices in Orange, New Haven, Hamden, and Madison. With all that I went through he has a lot of experience in infertility and is willing to work/consult with Dr. Metzger. Trust me when I tell you if they can help me they can help you, as I have 2 beautiful miracle boys here who are now 13 and 10 plus a 26 year old daughter, 24 and 22 year old sons. I saw that you live in West Haven so you aren't far from any of Dr. Kaump's offices. Also saw that you have a chocolate lab, I could use some advice on our black lab pup if you don't mind.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help.
Hugs,
T.

Hi L., you need to start by detoxing your body. You can do this by eating only organic fruits and veggies, lean chicken, no dairy, no sugar, no caffeine, no soy, and drinking raw juice atleast 4 times a day. I can work with you, please visit my website at www.myfoodtherapy.com and complete and email me the women's health history form.

Hi L.,
I just want to let you know that after trying to conceive for 1.5 years, not ovulating, being told I may never be able to get pregnant...this Friday we will be celebrating our twins second birthday!!! Don't give up. I have a few medical problems and never ovualted on my own. We tried for some time on our own and then began seeing a fertility doctor. We went to New England Fertitly in Hamden CT. For me I just couldnt ovulate naturally so for us going the hormone route was our only option. We are now blessed with boy girl twins and I think back to all the struggles and it seems like a lifetime ago. Keep your faith and I wish you lots of luck. If you want to chat I'm here.
