Hi, I'm curious if anyone else has gone through this. Here it goes...so lately I have had a few pregnancy symptoms and my last period was about July 12th or 13th and no period BUT that's nothing new because I have irregular periods but the thing is I've been having brown spotting and mild cramps for about a week or a little more..so I look into it and google it and what comes up is that this usually happens around 7 to 8 weeks early pregnancy. Now I calculated the last day of my period and I would be about 8 weeks according to the calculator so I'm thinking it all ties together. Well I took a pregnancy test today and it was negative so now I'm wondering is this right or should I make a dr appt If anyone else has gone through this please let me know what happened or if anyone has any advice please feel free to write me. Thank you so much.

If I was in the same situation I would make an appointment to have the pregnancy blood test done. Not all urine tests are accurate. Also, you could be mentally tricking your body in to thinking it's pregnant... sounds weird I know, but it could be happening.

When I was trying to get pregnant I would swear I had symptoms and turn out not to be pregnant. I looked into it and discovered I had a very common case of a phenomenon called phantom pregnancy. Basically its wishful thinking. The mind can do amazing things to us! I ended up being pregnant on the month I didn't feel at all pregnant! Maybe this is what is happening to you, then again, maybe your pregnant!

I'd wait another week or two and see what happens. If you don't have a cycle or positive pregnancy test by then, I'd make an appointment with the doctor.

I've had a lot of experience with irregular periods and brown spotting! The spotting is usually a sign for me that I'm either ovulating or my period is on it's way. The cramps are usually a sure sign that my body is gearing up for the period.

Or you can be pregnant! You should see your doctor just in case! Keep us posted!

You are far more likely to get a false positive than a false negative. Meaning...you might have to keep taking a test every week if it keeps showing up with a negative result. You could still be pregnant and it's not registering. I took 4 before I had a positive one but I just knew something wasn't right! And then there are those who get a positive result and then take 4 more just to be sure. If it's positive on the first try, it's like 99.9% accurate!

If you are more than 6 weeks along and the test says negative, it is extremely unlikely that you are pregnant. But I'd make an appt with your doc just to double check. Good luck and I hope you get the results you are hoping for ;-)

I have been through the same thing. My last period was in May. Since I have irregular periods, I didn't do the pregnancy test until late July and it was negative. In the middle of Aug, I started getting brown spots. Few days later, my period came and I have been having period for more than 3 weeks now. Of course, I checked with my OB and she ordered a blood test for me. It turned out that everything is normal. Checking with our OB is not a bad idea at all. It will put your mind at peace once you know what's happened.
