Favorite Waterpark for Little Ones (2 Yr Old)

I'm thinking of getting a season pass for a local water park, i work from home so it will usually just be me and my daughter (2 yrs old) going. Any advice on favorite parks? Obviously being able to bring in food/drinks would be helpful since she is only 2 and buying food at most parks is so expensive. An easy in/out parking situation would also be nice. We live in Lakewood so i'll have to drive no matter which one we chose.

What can I do next?

You might find the Lake Highlands splashpark, 9940 White Rock, perfect for your situation. The area lets kids run around and get wet but it's not overwhelming like a traditional waterpark. There is a covered picnic area too for eating.

We LOVE the college street park in Lewisville for little ones. Nothing is deeper than four or five feet and almost 75% is less than 2 feet deep. perfect for them to play safely in the water they are comfortable in. There is shade, a park out front, some consessions but food is allowed. CHEAP even for non residents, and the water is filtered clean every 30 min with the pumps the city choose to put in when they rebuilt. No worries about viruses floating around.

Check out your local YMCA. I live in the North Dallas area and the Northhaven YMCA has an area for little ones and an awesome sprayground. You can also bring in your own food. We pay $80 monthy for a family membership and you have access to just about everything.

I agree that for a two year old you really don't need a water park to keep them entertained and they would not be able to ride any of the rides. Most any of the pools that have a baby pool would be fine. If you just want a water park, then I would definitely recommend Hawaiian Falls. You should not need to buy a season pass for your two-year old, just yourself. They have a great kiddie area plus the lazy river and the wave pool that you could do with a two year old. We have had season passes there for several years and I have found that if you go later in the day, say around 4:00, then you practically have the park to yourself. It is usually busy first thing in the morning, gets really crowded by noon and begins to taper off by 3:00 or 4:00 pm. You don't need to pay for a small ice chest, only the large ones. Surf n Swim is also nice with a baby area and the wave pool shallow area is great for little ones. Much cheaper than Hawaiian Falls.

We did Hawaiian Falls last year and were quite happy with it - our daughter was 4, but not a swimmer at all. She loved hanging at the edge of the wave pool and in the kids area and floating on the inner tube with us on the lazy river. We liked the size of the park - not too big, the atmosphere - they always had stuff going on like Maui Moms club for moms and toddlers/preschoolers and family movie nights in the wave pool. They also don't gauge you for extras and you can rent a locker pass for the whole season too. They give you a bunch of coupons too. We thought it was a good deal all the way around, though about half way through the summer we did notice ourselves going less just because it was so terribly hot and it was getting crowded - we went to the one in The Colony.

Garland Surf & Swim might be fun to check out and then decide if it is what you want. http://www.surfandswim.org/

Check your local rec center. I dont know about your area but in Carrollton we have a very nice aquatic center that is run by the city with a special area just for small toddlers.

For a 2 yr old, you need a spray park or Garland Surf and Swim. The spray parks are free and there is one near you at the Ridgewood Rec Center on Fisher or the Lake Highlands North one at Church and White Rock Trail. Garland Surf and Swim was what I used when my son was 2. You can bring in food. It has a kid spray area (it is acutally about a foot deep and has a shade cover) and a wave pool (1/2 the time the waves are off in case your child doesn't like them). They have a rec center there that also had lots of fun classes for 2 year olds. We used to go to a music class there and then head over to Surf and Swim (they use the same parking lot). I've been to Hawaiian Falls which is lots of fun for a 7 year old but not much for a 2 year old.
