Favorite Digital Camera
My camera quit on me... I'm wondering what your favorite one is.
I'm looking for something simple, but that flashes right away and under $200
Thanks!!

So What Happened?™
Thanks everyone for all your ideas... it turns out that DH and I had mixed up communication.. and he went ahead and bought one for my birthday. It's a Canon, not sure what kind exactly, but he researched and it has a warranty as well.
Thanks again!

I love my Kodak EasyShare camera. I have several coworkers that have an EasyShare too, and they love it as well. I bought one as a group gift for a coworker and she loves it too. The basic one is around a $100.

We have a Polaroid that was $99. It takes good quality pictures, but takes FOREVER to fire. It does take great videos!
We've recently bought a digital SLR camera, that's really the only way to get a digital camera to behave like you'd want it to. Unfortunately they are expensive! We keep the Polaroid in my purse now.

Hi,
I just bought a camara over the weekend because I wanted one that didn't have a delay. I looked around and found the Olympus FE-340 at Target for 179.00. It's over 100 but I don't think you'll find one without a delay for under 100. I am SO happy with my camara so far. It's really small (and pink although that wasn't part of my decision) so it fits right in my purse.

The delay is based on how fast the processor is and also if you have preset the trigger. It also depends on whether you have it set for red-eye, etc. Ever wonder why it is so easy to get a refurb'd Kodak camera? My husband bought 4 for his company to use and out of 4, 1 was messed up right out of the box. The name easy share is very misleading and I find the menus to be very hard to access. I would definately buy either a FujiFilm or a Canon if I were buying another one. A good review and link to info is here: http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/news/releases/pressrelea...
If your pictures are just the norm, chasing kids, etc and nothing highly specialized-I think the one at the bottom of this would work great for you and are a great price at walmart for the technology they deliver.-I currently own 3 Fujifilm cameras I love them so much, and not to mention they are serviced in the US if something breaks, completely manufactered by Fujifilm start to finish to provide a better fit to all components and the company is Fujifilm USA instead of being based overseas (like Kodak is).

I own one of these and love it's pictures and compact style.
Here is corp. info-http://www.fujifilm.com/about/technology/index.html
You don't see a lot of commercials for Fujifilm like you do Kodak and others but that is because they sink their $$$ into research and development instead. They are also moving their photolabs to become "green" and are switching over to dry labs with no jugs of chemicals. Also, depending on what card was in your last camera, many of their cameras are dual slot now so they take both xd and sd cards.
Good luck, If you have any more technical questions please feel free to email me privately as it is my job.
Thanks,
C.

I love my Kodak EasyShare C875. It is easy to use and I just bought a refurbished one on ebay for $61 (+shipping). It also came with a one year warranty from Kodak.

My husband and I are on our 2nd Kodak digital camera. The only reason we're on our 2nd is because we accidentally dropped the other one on the cement garage floor - oops!!
I don't remember the price on the 1st one, but we got the 2nd one last Christmas for right around $100. I'm sure you can find something like that if you look around.
As for the flashing right away thing, alot of that has to do with the red-eye reduction setting. If you have it set to eliminate the red-eye, it will flash and a second later it will take the picture. If you turn off that setting, it will take the picture right away.
I'd also like to add that Kodak's software for the camera is excellent and very easy to use. My mom has a camera (and Olympus) that she's had for 4-5 years and we can't figure out how to use the software.

I just bought a Canon PowerShot A470, I love it so far. Being camera iliterate, I found it very easy to use, the software if easy to install and all I have to do is plug it into the the cord and pictures download automatically to the computer.
~Good luck and happy shooting :)

PS, I bought it at Walmart for around $129, I purchased the extra 2 gb memory card for around $20.
