Favorite Childhood Drink?

I just made myself some Hawaiian Punch (the diet kind) and thought to myself "man, I could REALLY go for a kiddie cocktail." Of course I don't have a SINGLE component to make it.

I also would LOVE some "Sunshine Punch" Kool Aid but they stopped making that stuff at least 20 years ago. I loved that stuff so much I named my CAR "Sun Punch." It was the 80s so go ahead and laugh.

Orange soda reminds me of visiting my dad at his fire station. They had an old chest style that had bottles of soda and you had to slide it over and pull it up to get it out. I think they were 15 cents. LOVED THAT!

What's your favorite childhood drink?

So What Happened?

Now I REALLY want some Kool AId made with REAL sugar. We even SENT AWAY for the Kool Aid guy plastic pitcher back in the 80s. LOVED that thing because it was see thru and was in the shape of him. Awesome memories.

My mom made eggflips with milk, egg, vanilla and sugar. The taste takes me back to two years old. Also, Sunnyboys - the triangular drinks that you could freeze.

Kool Aid, hands down - particularly grape, cherry, and tropical punch. They also used to have a flavor called Purplesaurus Rex - it was grape and lemonade mixed together and I thought it was really yummy! I also liked the orange drink from McDonald's. And Faygo Red Pop (Faygo is synonymous with Detroit).

On a kinda black humor kind of note, one brand of euthanasia solution that we use for euthanizing animals is a bright blue color to keep it from being confused with anything else (most injectable meds are clear and colorless). When all the blue drinks started coming out, like the blue Hawaiian Punch and raspberry blue Kool Aid, it skeeved a lot of us out!

Birch Beer, a quarter from the machine in front of the grocery store. It would even take flat thin rocks in a pinch. Plus, if you timed it right, you could get TWO bottles instead of one!

(My sisters and I started our life of crime, not to mention our love of beer, at a very young age, I guess!)

:)

I loved Kool-Aid!!! But I have to say that my very favorite was Coke in a glass bottle out of the machine at the feed store. It was ice cold and the original Coke. Nothing like it.

Big Red Pop (that was the name and the flavor LOL). I haven't seen it in years but man did I love that stuff.

Milk was a favorite of mine ... I still love it.

Squirt and Mellow Yellow too :)

And any soda out of a reused glass bottle ... the ones you would collect and turn in at the store for a dime a bottle :) Just something about those bottles that made the pop that much better.

Chocolate milk made at home with Hershey's syrup. My kids get chocolate syrup from Trader Joe's for a treat (it has no corn syrup). Also when I worked at summer camp as a teenager they had an old fashioned soda machine--ice cold Dr. Pepper was so good in the summer heat.

We also used to drink root beer flavored "kool aid," but I don't think it was actually Kool Aid brand it was a knockoff but we loved it!
