I agree with Mallory.

Strappy sandals and hose don't mix. And I am not a big fan of the strappy sandals in winter either.

If you can swing it, I'd go look for some great pumps. Lots out there right now. That way, if you feel compelled to wear hose, it won't be so bad.

As for the hose, I'm not assuming you'd do this, but just in case... do not wear hose any darker than your actual skin tone. NOTHING looks worse than suntan hose, with a milky white winter body... :)

I would get some new shoes if I were you. Not crazy about the strappy sandal look in winter and it will definitely look bad with hose. They do make them with out toes but I was unable to find them recently.

Hose are not going to keep your legs warm, so either skip them and wear the strappy shoe or (my preference) wear a cute pair of pumps.

strappy open-toes are awesome, but not really suitable for winter. i'd go with a different shoe and some sparkly black winter-weight tights.

I would do some cute pumps and not strappy heels. I don't like the look of them in winter. As far as hose... DON'T DO NUDE! Yuck! Maybe a taupe or black? I'm thinking taupe. Have fun, I love dressy events.... they don't come along nearly as much as they used to :(

I know I'm in the minority here but you can pull it off. I would go with hose that have some interest though-sparkles, stripes, lace or even something in a color-violet maybe? Have fun!

Update: You can also buy pantyhose that have an open toe. I think spanx may be a brand that makes them but I know others do too.

Either no pantyhose and your strappy shoe, or pantyhose and go get some new cute shoes to wear with your outfit. If it were me, I am always looking for a reason to buy a new cute pair of shoes! LOL Go get some sexy high heels to wear ~

When ever i did modeling, I was told to wear hose, it makes your legs look better, and i would get a pair of closed toe shoes.

I think all women look better wearing panty hose with their dresses.
Bare legs to me are very unattractive.

I'm with Kris L. Pantyhose with design, or, try a peep-toe shoe that wouldn't reveal as much of the pantyhose around the toes.

No panty hose! Unless they are opaque black tights and that is depending on the proportion of the strappy shoe, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't-check it out in the mirror before the big night. If they're real dainty and strappy (still could work-depends on shoe all the models in fashion mags right now have opaque tights-all colors and strappy shoes and it looks great because they weigh 3 pounds) it's better to stick with a more chunky peep toe type strappy with tights for winter. You can't go wrong with black opaque hose, closed toe heels or boots (the right kind) even with a halter dress. You could do the strappies and bare legs, but only if there is NO outdoor time involved where you could be caught loitering and chatting waiting for cars and stuff-it will look like you didn't know what season it is.

Halter shows lots of skin so open toed is a good choice. No hose with sandals or open toed shoes. If you wear a closed pump then hose are okay.

yes,wear pantyhose,light black color. wear closed toe shoes. it is wintertime so you need to change it up a little. have fun

It's winter you need some closed toed shoes. maybe a peep toe. and hose. only time for no hose is in the summer and then go with the really strappy shoe

no pantyhose with sandals, specially strappy ones. just wear pantyhose and some elegant close toy shoes and have fun whenevere you going.

I HATE PANTYHOSE! I wouldn't wear them even if I were wearing a pump, which I wouldn't wear with the dress you've picked out. Sorry for the strong opinion. Peep-toe shoes would look great, but no hose!! :o)
