Farmers' Markets

Greetings all. I was wondering if there is a good farmers market in the KC metro area. We live in western Shawnee, but are willing to travel for a good one.

The two best farmeers markets are downtown at the city market, and in Old Overland park! There are a few others around town (one at Barstow and once in a while, where the T-bones play).

I love going to the one in Downtown Overland Park. I used to live right by there and my son and I would walk down there every Saturday morning in the summer. I personally like it because it's on a smaller scale but with great produce.

City Market is great. Merriam and Overland Park also have very good one, as well.

I think the best one in Johnson County is the Overland Park one in downtown Overland Park. It's open Wedenesdays and Saturdays (not sure about Sundays).

We love going to the one downtown. The City Market. It's always fun and you never know what kind of booths will be there.

The one in River Market is a lot of fun, but it doesn't have a lot of organic produce if that's important to you. I had asked a couple of the vendors where there produce came from and they said California. Well, I can get that at the grocery store. There is an all organic one off of Redbridge and Holmes in KCMO. There is also one in Brookside that's all organic, although it is a little spendy. These are both on Saturdays.

I live in Downtown Overland Park, and I have been a few times to the Farmer's Market here. It is nice... beautiful flowers and lots of honey. The produce has never excited me.

If you dont mind traveling... the Farmer's Market in Lawrence is incredible. I cant remember which day they have it... like Tuesdays and Saturdays or something. Lots of jelly's, flowers, honey, produce... etc.
