Farm Visit for 3 Year Old

Does anyone know of a farm or farming experience where we can take our 3 year old son? He is currently into his 'farm' phase and thought it would be a great adventure for him on his birthday this summer. Only place I ever recall seeing was Lambs Farm.

What can I do next?

Phillips Park in Aurora is free!!! They have turkeys, ducks, otters, peacocks, Elk, a snake house, etc. Here is the link

It is near the corner of Route 30 and Montgomery Road.

Since this is a park district (I think) you can bring a picnic lunch, and at the end of it all, there is a big, big, playground covered with Oak trees, which is completely shaded. You have to drive down to the next parking lot because it is a hike.

Enjoy!

There is a working farm in Schaumburg, part of the Schaumburg Park District. It is called Volkening Heritage Farm. You can google it for more info. I think the website is www.parkfun.com but then you have to search from there. My husband found it 2 years ago when he went to a mechanic and the kids enjoyed it while they waited for the car to be ready.

We just took our 2 yr old to Lambs farm on Monday. She had a blast! Things are a little old, but she enjoyed petting all the animals. We rode the train twice, the carousel twice, and she did the cow bounce. It was nice during the week, there were a handful of families there. We didnt wait in line for anything. We did go across the street to the pet shop too. We tried the restaurant, its ok just remember that you have to be very patient. I think its great for toddlers to learn about compassion and understanding for others with disabilities.Alothough they wont fully understand for awhile. Overall, i would definately take my daughter again.
We took her for her birthday also:)

There is a great little Farm in Glenview- Wagner Farm, it is on Lake Street and I think the cross street is Wagner. We were just there yesterday and my 2 year old loved it. They have cows, sheep, pigs, 2 horses, chickens, roosters, and geese. It is just the right size for little kids to walk around. It is free and if you go, make sure you go inside to the museum- there is some hands on things for the kids to do (pretend to milk a cow, etc.). Have a great time!
