I would go Fl I am from Mobile AL which is 30 mins away from Fl. In October it was raining off and on and cool mornings and evenings after sun set but over all it was nice. Another thing to think about is hurricanes so make sure they are not int he water before leaving.

Personally since my husband is from Jacksonville. Fl we always take road trips home for him. My daughter loves it, if you map it right there is a lot to see. We stay in St. Augustine. It's full of cool stuff and a lot of history. It is the oldest city in the US I think. My husband loves it too, the World Golf Hall of Fame and Center is there. We will take a few days and go to the beach and a day or two at her selected theme park in Orlanda or Tampa of my dd choice.

Hi C.,

There are 2 places I would recommend. One being San Diego, CA. It is a great place for families and the weather is always nice there. Tons of things to do...the San Diego zoo, Wild Animal Park, Scripps Aquarium, Balboa Park, Julian is a cute mountain town about an hour and a half away. Also Legoland is amazing!! The second is Destin, FL. October is definitely low season for them so you won't have to deal with any crowds. There is an aquarium there plus the beach. I hope you have a great time wherever you go!

I would invest in a dvd player for your car. Also take your kids favorite toys to play with and bring a travel magnadoodle or aquadoodle for them to color with. We drove to California and my son was really good. We also did a lot of driving at night and that helped. On the way home we went to vegas and circus circus was fun for him but there were plenty of things for us to see. The white tigers, sinking of the ship, the volcano, ect. We drove and saw the hoover dam on our way out of vegas. and then we drove and saw the grand canyon and the petrafied forest. Anyway Logan had a blast at everything we did. We only used the dvd player I think once on our way there and twice on the way home. We only brought a couple of his favorite movies. I hope that helps you!

Hi C.!
I highly suggest San Diego, CA. I used to live there and was a nanny for a 2 year old and 1 year old. San Diego has the World Famous Zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Wild Animal Park, great parks, obviously the beach and so much more. I now have kids of my own and hope to move back there at some point. Even if it's just for a little while, I would love to let my kids enjoy it there. Also, Disneyland is less than two hours away! Good luck with your decision and have a fun trip!

Being from that area of PA it's not "cold" in October...low 60's and worst case...high 50's. However, Sesame Place is so not worth three kids in the car for 21/2 days to get there! (if you were to make the drive Hershey is so much better but the amusement park is closed by that time of year)

Try a national park, Big Bend, The Grand Canyon, even the 1.5 days it takes to get to So Cal would be better options.

Mind you this is just my opinion but I would hate for you to drive all that way and find out it was for nothing!

Hope this helps!
