I am looking for a place that can do family portraits as well as Holiday greeting cards. I really don't want to go to Kiddie Kandids because I want to try somewhere different. Is there any other studio's other and Kiddie Kandids, Target, Sears and JC Penny's that have reasonable prices and can get the greeting cards back quickly like the same day and not spend a fortune?

I went to Fotogenix in Sandy, Ut and my pictures turned out great. The pricing is more than at Kiddie Kandids but I am not sure how much. I asked specifically for their best childrens photographer and she was so patient and the shots were all beautiful.

H. - It sounds like you are receiving a lot of the same advice - why not just go with a traditional family photographer?

I too have my own photography business and invite you to check out our website and blog for more information. I promise we will spend more quality time with you and your family than you might find at a chain portrait studio and you'll really enjoy the results.

Our Christmas Card special is a family sitting at the outdoor site of your choosing along with 25 custom Christmas Cards that feature images on the front and back. (The cards are one of a kind designs which means your friends won't be getting this design from anyone else). The session is only $75.00 and includes all of your images hosted online for 60 days!

Give me a call if you have any questions or want to chat about different options we offer. We are available for travel all around the state.

For price, try Walmart. For great pictures and convenience try Fotogenix (Orem near the mall and other locations). Good luck

Hi H.,
I'm not a studio, but I'm a photographer. I offer a sitting that includes a CD of your images in scrapbook (or 4x6) size. You could take these images and send them through Costco or something, where they do greeting cards, even walmart does christmas greeting cards which would be back in 1 day. If you don't have a costco membership, I'd even be happy to get them ordered for you. The bonus is that unlike Kiddie Kandids or Pennies, you'll have viewing and print access to dozens of images, forever, with your CD. We could sit down and have you pick your favorite image on the same day as the shoot, to have turned into a greeting card. Check out my site landslidephotos.blogspot.com and send me an email ____@____.com if you're interested in more info. . . . good luck!

H.,
The best deal in town is Target. Go online to the target website, then go to the studio link where you can print off a coupon. Here is the link, http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/page.jsp?title=portr...
I had taken my boys a month before and when I received my pics there was a little survey I took online then got a $3 off coupon. So I got the first package; 2-8x10, 2-5x7, 4-3 1/2x5, and 16 wallets for $4.99. Without the online coupons the packages start at $50, so it is worth it to print one off. I know they have a deal on greeting cards to but I didnt get them, Walmart also has a deal on greeting cards. Here is the link. http://photos.walmart.com/storepage/storePageId=Cards

Good luck!

I have been to all the places you inquired about as well as Fotogenix and a private family photographer. I can tell you that in my personal experience, Kiddie Kandids is the only way to go. All three (Target, Pennys, Sears) charge extra for same-day printing of cards. The prices are comparable to Kiddie Kandids and, like I said, you don't get them same-day and the CD's are a lot more money (if you want one). Private photographers usually get a better picture, but the cost is usually pretty high once you figure in sitting fees, etc, unless you find someone who's just starting their business. For fabulous photos with a higher price tag, see a private photographer. For good, inexpensive photos, go to Kiddie Kandids.

I have six kids, and it is so hard to get a shot with everyone looking at the camera - let a lone smiling. We asked a neighbor with a 7Mpixel camera to come over and snap some shots. I had purchased a memory card. He took about 30 shots. I went to Walgreens or Rite Aid - either one can do same day greeting cards as well as 8x10s. We got some great pictures and didn't spend a lot of money.

A friend of mine is a professional photographer, her name is Heather. She takes darling pictures. Right now she has a $45 deal. You can learn more by visiting her site: www.heatherannphotography.blogspot.com
I'm sure it would take a few days to get your edited cd back, but after that you can take them wherever you like to have them printed off. Good luck!
