okayy so i have an almost two year old daughter so i been through the whole pregnancy cycle before.. i had my period in january and was supposed to start february 15th.. i started bleeding on the 17th but it was not like my usual period.. it was basically just spotting for four days or so.. ive always had very regular periods.. it is now march 25th and i have not bled anymore since then... ive took two pregnancy tests and they both came back negative. i have been having some symptoms such as frequent urination, tender breasts, weight gaining, increased appetite but i have no had any morning sickness like i did with my first child (started around eight weeks). ontop of this im getting married next month and scared my wedding dress isnt going to fit because of the weight gain, but i definitely dont want to starve myself to fit in it if i could be pregnant... could my late period just be due to stress or is it possible to have a false negative. also how long should i wait to call my doctor? thank you for all your input :)

What can I do next?

Call you doctor now and have them do a test (preferably the blood test). Any urine test can be wrong. My hubby's cousin and his wife experienced this...her home tests said negative, her doctor's office said negative (two months in a row). When she went back and demanded the blood test, they finally confirmed it and said "you can't be more than one month along"...they did an ultrasound and she was 12 or 13 weeks.

You could also be late due to stress...but there is only one way to find out for sure.

when did you take your last pregnancy test? If it has been a week or two... take another one... if that is negative, and you don't get your period in a week's time... book an appt anyways. If you drink or smoke... quit until you are 100% sure you are not pregnant and start taking prenatal vitamins if you can.

Honestly, with a wedding so soon, you could just be having a lot of stress that is messing up your cycles... but better safe than sorry, eh?

good luck!

First, it could be either. Having your doctor do a test will be much more accurate if you want to know for sure.

Stress, change in diet, exercise pattern, or sleep pattern can all affect your cycle. Weddings are stressful so it wouldn't be surprising if your body chemistry was a little off these days. The symptoms, or lack thereof, can be caused my many other things. Stress, for example, can cause appetite changes, and weight gain. Of course eating more than normal can add to weight gain too. Tender breasts are usually caused by hormone changes, but can also be caused by restrictive clothing, injury, or sex. As far as morning sickness, every pregnancy is different. Morning sickness or lack thereof alone is not an indicator either way.

False negative? Maybe. The best time to take a test is as soon as you wake up before you have had any food or drink that will dilute the hormone levels. Remember that home tests vary as to accuracy. Even the ones that say "5 days before your missed period" will not always tell you that soon. Home tests, on average, do not regularly come up as positive until 6-8 weeks. Check with your doctor, have a blood test done, and congratulations on your wedding!!!!

I would think that if you got those negatives recently and they are both negative, then it's unlikely. If you were pregnant in late February already, then by now that pregnancy test should be able to pick it up. Any chance of going to a clinic to be tested properly? Keep us posted! :)

if you have had unprotected sex - then yes - it's possible you are pregnant.

take your pregnant test with your urine of the day. That is when the hormones are the strongest.

Also remember you can talk yourself into MANY symptoms...so it could be stress...I don't know. I'm not a doctor. If your test in the morning comes back negative, then call your doctor and tell him or her what you told us and get a blood test done to see if there are any other problems you might be having.

Congrats on the upcoming marriage. May you have many happy years.

Of course you could be pregnant. Call your doctor and request a blood test for pregnancy.
