Fake Negatives?

I am two months late and have been trying to have a baby for seven months. I have not been stressing or doing anything out of the ordinary, but I have now missed my period twice. All five tests that I have taken over the past two months have come out negative. I'm going to get some bloodwork done tomorrow, but has anyone heard of someone being pregnant even if the tests come out negative?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

This morning, my midwife called me with the results of my blood tests and she said that nothing was wrong with me... I was in fact pregnant! We're two months pregnant with our second child.

Yes! Me! I have never had a home pregnancy test be positive for me because of how my hormone levels are and I am pregnant with my second and have had at least 10 misscarriages that I know of. Good luck w/ your blood work! Ill be rooting for ya! :)

My friend has four boys and all of her pregnancy tests always came out negative..she always has had to take blood tests for confirmation....so I think it is common

When I got pregnant with my daughter I took 2 home pregnancy tests. Both came out negative. We were trying for a baby and I just knew I was pregnant, but they both came out negative within a few days of each other. So I went to the doctor and got a blood test and sure enough I was pregnant. The doctor said that sometimes early on the hormone that is used to detect on home pregnancy tests may not be very strong in some woman and therefore will read negative. After I got the positive blood test results I took a third home pregnancy test(I bought a 2 pack the second time) just for the heck of it to see what happened. It still came out negative!
My advice, nothing beats a blood test!

Well I guess it must be common. I had taken two tests before I had one come out positive. It took 6 weeks past due for mine to show. So now it makes me more paranoid when I miss a period now. Well Good luck!!!

YES!!!!! ok it hasnt happened to me-but my older sister threw a negative at her drs office-they told her she might have thyroid cancer-nope she was pregnant with Sophie. and they didnt figure it out till she was 5 months.

blood tests are very good they only did a urine on her.

Lots of luck.

Honestly, I think all women are different. I have only been late twice...hence the two children sitting in the other room. And both times I was late the tests came out positive. I still have them..(is that gross??) If I were you I would just go to the doctor and get tested. But, are you experiencing any symptoms of early pregnancy? (Breat tenderness and swelling, heightened sense of smell, exhaustion..) I think you should go on your instincs. I knew both times, just a gut thing. But if you go to the doctor and you are not pregnant, missing periods is a symptom of several gynecological issues, so maybe you should rule those out as well. Good Luck~

yes i think it's more common now that i read your responses. When i was pregnant we did blood tests between week 4 and 8... the blood tests where negative until i was 8 weeks along. the only reason they came up with 8 weeks was an ultra sound. At 5 weeks i was told i had a cyst through ultra sound...... nope it was my now three year old little girl. good luck! Follow your instincts and pay attention to your body!
