Hello,

I am looking for a new facial moisturizer. I use Clinique Moisturizing Gel during the summer but I need something more for the colder months. Does anyone have a moisturizer they love? I have pretty normal skin, just a few break-outs occasionally. I am 47 so my skin isn't as young as it used to be :).

Thanks,

M.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Huschka ROSE CREAM... (not the light) ...
you ll pay up for it, but it's so great.. I am 50 and have been wearing it for years... it's very emollient without causing me to break out...
every now and then Whole foods will have it on sale..
you MIGHT be able to get a tester from them and see if you like it..
it 's gentle while at the same time gives the lines a run for their money :)

Neutrogena healthy defense SPF 15. it's not greasy, feels really light, but has SPF built in.
Applies well with or without foundation over it. And it even might come in a tinted version.

Clinique Super defense SPF 25 with Repair wear eye for around the eyes. I use the Clinique Moisture surge gel in addition when it is really dry in the winter.

For about 15 bucks, it's hard to beat Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer, IMO.

I also like Origins Plantscriptions Night Cream.

I'm 50 and use shea butter when I feel the need for a moisturizer, which is not every day.

I really like Philosophy's Hope in a Jar and L'Occitane's Angelica line. Both work really well and I usually do Angelica in summer and Philosophy in winter.

I love Clinique and I have used it since I was a teen. I do like the Repairwear series day and night cream.

However, I had a facial while in CA and it was a Kaplan MD Beverly Hills product and they used essential oils and I LOVED this product. I love it so much that I have bought it again and it is now in my daily routine 2x a day. It is a blue bottle, I order through Neimans online (free shipping) and it is about $100 with tax. You only use a couple of drops day and night and get it all over you face. I LOVE LOVE this.

Also, I tried a Retinol eye crème by Trish McEvoy and it is outstanding. 1 tiny drop in the morning and night takes care of both eyes. It is $125 but last a LONG time because you only use 1 tiny drop for both eyes day and night.

I use her daily moisturizer during the day $90 with SPF and a acts like a primer as well. Her Vitamin C cream at night is to die for... I LOVE this stuff... $85. Use just a little only at night.. again lasts a long time.

I LOVE all of these products.

The only reason I veered from Clinique (which I love and use all makeup products and repairwear serum) was after the facial I had, I wanted to try something different and my face shows a very positive difference.

All of these products are sticker shock when you first see the sticker but keep in mind, they last a LONG LONG time if used properly so the expense balances out over the months vs restocking often with other brands.

I typically purchase these products at neimans or Nordstrom.

I use Oil of Olay in the jar, the box is yellow and white. I have been using it for years. It takes care of the really dry skin I get on my chin when the weather first gets blustery and does so quickly Bonus is it contains SPF 15.. And I don't get break outs from it. In a pinch I have also used Ceteaphil cream without a problem.

organic coconut oil is great for your skin, but it's oily so not really suitable for daywear.
i love the DHC line. i do use what's on sale on any given month as it's pricey, but since i pretty much love all their stuff, i'm fine with switching up between olive leaf cream and CO12 or whatever.

I've used Aveeno's Positively Radiant with SPF. It's great and I actually liked it better than the pricy Oil of Olay I had been using.

I recently switched over to CeraVe. Their line is fantastic, and CHEAP. I was shocked when I read the reviews on Amazon (thousands of 5-star reviews on pretty much their whole line) and feel like I found a hidden gem. :) I use their Facial Moisturizing Lotion (PM) and the hydrating cleanser. I love it.

I use Oil of Olay Daily Complete during the day. I don't break out with this moisturizer, but I'm photosensitive, so I have usually have to use an additional foundation with SPF. At night, I use an organic cream moisturizer called Metaderm. I originally bought it for my son's eczema, but liked it so much for him, I began using it myself. I've found the Metaderm keeps me moisturized without feeling heavy or greasy.

Oil of Olay Daily Moisture, spf 15. I have used it every day for years, my skin is soft, and never burns. I also use Olay Regenerist (sp?) Serum which seems to help with the fine lines around my eyes and lips. I'm 46.
