Facebook Timeline

I was really looking forward to it so I like it. It is fresh and easy to follow if you just take time to figure it out. It is much easier to manage. If you just step back and decide to learn how to do it the whole process will be much easier for you.

They are not going to change it back, no amount of protest will change that. It is a free site and you are welcome to go elsewhere BUT the others are very similar to the new timeline so you'll have to learn it anyway.

The whole concept of the time line came from much debate about how it did not appeal to younger people who wanted to be able to see more posts on the page and not so many ads, they wanted to have the ability to show more about themselves on their profile page. They wanted it to be easier and more appealing. So the powers that be worked on this concept for a year or so. It is here to stay and will continure to improve.

I suggest you just take the time to put some new pictures on your profile page and make it look how you like it then never go there again. The wall will continue as it and if you don't go to your profile page you do not have to deal with time line ever again.

One thing I will mention here though. If you are playing a game and posting to the wall for a request you MUST put something in the comment line or the request. For example, if I am posting a request for crystals in Gardens of Time I always put a period or comma in the comment box. It makes the post individual and original therefore it seperates it out from the group of blank ones that get chunked together. Which I do like, that way I can click on "see similar posts" and get them all withing a few inches and not have to go back for the whole day.

As it is with any upgrade there will be unforseen issues. Just be patient and they will get fixed as soon as they can.

I hear ya, I have not upgraded to the timeline yet mainly because I don't like the way it looks, and the concept of it is horrendous. I hope were not eventually forced into changing it, hopefully it is optional.

As Gamma G said, they're not going to change it back, no matter how many people protest. We get to use it for free, they can do what they want and we are free to go elsewhere.

I got switched over about a month ago (they did it, not me) and I have to say while I wasn't looking forward to it I am now used to it for the most part. I love how when I post pictures they're bigger than before, and it actually bothers me now when I go to someone's page who doesn't have Timeline yet, lol ; )

I also agree with Gamma in that if you stay off your profile page you don't have to really deal with Timeline, your wall is the same. BUT, I find myself going to my profile more now that I have Timeline so I guess I like it!

I've never seen any post I've made on mama pedia show up on my facebook account. I'm on her a lot and respond to many and never ever a single post has transferred. I'm curious how the previous poster made that happen.

{sigh}...I do miss the old facebook and HATE that when I post on someone's page for any reason, even when I like something, it shows up for ALL of my friends to see. It has significantly reduced my posting, and has even caused me to censor my posts because there are things I don't want ALL of my friends to see (I'm talking about the active feed to the right of our page that shows all of the activity from our friends ~ my page and everything in it is set to private, friends only). I resent that facebook has made us so transparent, despite our privacy settings. So much for privacy, what a joke.

I am going to be so sad when it converts my account. It STINKS. You get what you pay for....

I hate that its being forced on us! And I hate that no matter what I do everyone can see everything! I posted on a blog here on MP and it showed up on my Facebook. Wth? HATE it!

i hear ya..ive had my fill of face book-been trying to delete off it for 2 weeks-i get over 200 requests a day for all the stupid games-and when i asked a friend to stop sending me stuff-he completely deleted me and wont even talk to me anymore..unreal! i really regret the day i signed up on that stupid site.they make it impossible to delete yourself-i deleted all pictures-went back on the next day..THEIR STILL ON THERE????

so if you dont do this upgrade-do they delete you? lets hope....good luck

Kathy, its unfortunate that you do not know how to navigate or understand what you can and can not do on Face book. You can turn off ALL those game requests. The only reason you get them is cause you accepted them with out even thinking about it. You have to delete the ENTIRE account for everything to not show up anymore. IF you are deleting pictures you were tagged in, They are not yours to delete therefore they will not go away. I suggest learning how to use a site properly before getting angry about something that is very easily done.
YOU HAVE NO CHOICE, its a mandatory upgrade, NO they do NOT delete you because you dont want to change. ITS NOT A CHOICE.
If you dont have it now, its because they do it in chunks. If they did it all at once it would crash FB for days and think of the complaints, and protests then!!! So its coming for those who do not have it. Just you are lucky to be in the groups that haven't been TIMELINED.. oooohhh scary.

Time line is great I love it and dont want to get rid of it. If you understand how to navigate, it really was much better than he OLD way. People hate change, I am not one of those.

What most people forget, is this is a free site, you dont pay for it. You HAVE NO rights to anything. They have the choice. They make the money in advertisements.

JUST to mention as well, when you sign up for Facebook, they have access, and legally have the availability of all you post, do, and photos. So they can sell everything that you have on a page if they want to, and they DO. If you dont want people to see things, then its because you do NOT know how to set your privacy settings. All that can be fixed, as well as that little window some people are talking about where every one can see what you do. Well you can easily unsubscribe to that and have your close friends do it to.

I resisted at first...it's no biggie now. You will get used to it.

My girlfriends and I that FB, all hate it. I was hoping they would never make it mandatory. Hmmm... I wonder if ALLLL of us posted a new status saying that we HATE. IT. ? :/

Im not fond of it either and havent switched over. I have had trouble with it flipping things back and forth from one side to the other when reading, and dont see where it reminds me of others birthdays either. Its a shame they felt the need to change it so drastically. I think back on MySpace and how it was ,,and then how it changed and now I dont know anyone who uses it. I wonder if facebook will phase out now because its different. So, here is someones chance to start a new social media site and make a fortune!

yeah im not looking forward to it.. i heard by april 4th its manditory and wether u click on the thing or not your going to automatically have it by then... from what iv heard though everyone hates in for a while then u get used to it
