I am knocking at 40's door and, my face is starting to show it. :( I have spent money on creams that claim they help with undereye bags and wrinkles but, they don't seem to be doing anything for me. What have you all used that seems to be your miracle cream? I am tired of wasting money on things that don't work. Does such a product exist?

I'm 48 and I love, Love, LOVE Aveeno Postively Radiant with SPF 30.
Miracle? Probably not, but I've tried my share and I like it best. :)

I use it under my make up. It's not greasy at all.

Retin-A is available by prescription it has been clinically shown to reduce wrinkles...not just the "appearance of wrinkles"...see a dermatologist.

Also, I use natural estrogen and progesterone cream ...it is plant based and available over the counter at healthfood stores...whenever I use them, people tell me how good I look.

It's expensive but I absolutely love the entire Philosophy line. I just started using the miracle worker kit (retinol pads with dark spot corrector) and I can already see a difference. They also have a Vitamin C powder that is awesome. You mix it into any moisturizer but I like to use Hope in a Jar. You can purchase it online or at any Ulta or Sephora. Good luck!

I'm 41, and also LOVE Aveeno's Positively Radiant! It's amazing! I use it every morning. As far as a night cream goes, I use something every night, but I keep switching it up because I haven't found anything that I love.

Having a good skincare routine is key. Aveeno Postively Radiant with SPF 30 is great for daywear. I also make sure to use a good makeup remover (I like Estee Lauder Soft Clean Tender Creme Cleanser) before washing my face. Follow up with eye cream (use your pinky or ring finger to gently apply so you're not stretching your skin too much!) and a night cream and/or serum.

For anti-wrinkle cream, look for these ingredients: Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline®), Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, and Retinyl Palmitate.

good luck!

M., I don't know that there's any miracle cream. One's skin changes over the years and the best one can do it manage it, I think.

When I was your age (you kid, you!) I still had oily skin, but the oil wells were beginning to dry up. I did need moisturizer, but I didn't have money for anything fancy, so I used (gasp) Crisco! It's non-greasy and did a doggone good job.

My skin has dried considerably since then, and the sags and bags that come with age have, well, come, so I've needed to try other things.

I've used the Clinique products for years, and I recommend them. I still use the Clinique makeup, but I've been trying something else for skin care. The reason I was impressed enough to try this line, called Hoity Toity, was because my daughters (who are in their 30s) love it - both the one with the oily skin and the one with the dry skin.

Here is the web site:

http://www.finelotions.com

The ingredients are natural. There's a lot of shea butter involved, and my skin just loves that. You might give it a try.

Like Clinique, the products are a little pricey, but you DO get your money's worth. I use it consistently, but I use as little as I can get away with, and one container will last me from three to six months, depending on the size I've purchased. I'm not buying things to try out and then throwing most of the product - and my money - away.

I think the trick is to start early.

I started using Clinique when I was 11 and I have used it ever since. You have to have a good skin care routine, drink a lot of water, sunscreen and I was blessed with good genes as well.

I just turned 50 and I pass for early to mid 30's.

I use the repairwear series of Clinique, laser focus, eye cream and youth surge day and night.

Yes, they can be pricey BUT, each container lasts about 6 months so if you break it down it is not that bad. It is guaranteed and if you don't like it return it. Dermatologists recommend it as well.

It takes time... NO product will work over night. Give a product about 4 weeks to see results.

I like the Olay treatments but you probably don't need much yet. They have different levels of treatment and they seem to do something maybe and if not they feel great. They are costly though but last quite awhile, and compared to some brands I guess they aren't that high priced.

I use the Avon Anew Line of creams and foundation. I swear they've taken years off me! There's a retexturizing glycolic acid peel and resurfacing gel that are my miracles. My skin looks better than it ever has. They have great 2 step eye creams that have one for undereye and one for lid. Don't bother with the crows feet corrector though, it's akward and hard to use.

I also bought a Garnier Fructese undereye roller. It has caffeine and other stuff to tighten the area and has a tint to cover dark circles.

My best reccomendation for you is to go on Amazon and look at the reviews before you buy anything. That will save you from costly trial and error.

30 SUNBLOCK EVERY DAY.

If you want to get a prescription, ask your dermo for retin-A (or generic, tretinoin) in the lower strength. It's pretty much the best thing short of botox/surgery :) You MUST use sunscreen with it though, since it causes sun sensivity. Prepare for some skin flakes in the first weeks but if used regularly, will go away. Can start with every other day to ease into it. Follow the directions on the packaging to a T for best results.

I've also found a very popular and cheap little cream that, after reading about how many people love it, bought and now I'm in love with too! It's a generic walgreen's brand alpha hydroxy face cream, if you can believe it. It's so cheap and does a great job. Using alpha hydroxy will also mean you have to be more diligent about staying out of the sun/using sunblock, just like the retin-a. This brand is 8% alpha hydroxy, so pretty mild but you may have some sensivity the first couple weeks of use. Use every other night to start if you have sensitive skin. In addition to night use, you can use under sunblock during the day if you don't have to worry about too much cream on your skin.

Here's a link with all the rave reviews :) http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-alpha-hydroxy-...

I also use a drug store brand sunblock and face wash that has niaminicide which is supposed to help with skin surface discoloration and smoothness. Love them because they're cheap and gentle. The brand is Cera Ve.

Good luck!

I don't think there is any such thing as "miracle cream." Prevention is best. That means wearing a good sunscreen and moisturizer every day.
I have been doing this since my early twenties and my skin looks WAY better than my mom's did at my age (43.)

Arbonne has a wonderful Anti-Aging skin care line of products. They DO NOT contain mineral oil which can pull the moisture from your skin causing more wrinkles and fine lines. I am in my 50's but when out with my girls 36 and 24 everyone thiinks I am their sister. PM me for a free sample of the RE9 Advanced products and more info.
