Eyecream/moisturizer Recommendations?

As a mom of two busy girls 1.5 & 3, it's now starting to take a toll on my skin. I've been using eye products here & there, but never really stuck w/ one. Can you recommend any products? there's so many out there & I thought you ladies would be my best best on recommendations.

This is going to sound weird, but I use olive oil. I use it at night before bed, and in the morning after cleansing. All you need is a small dab, and it works like a charm. Also helps with dark circles. I tried co many products that just did not help, and my hair stylist recommended olive oil, and I based on the results I am sold. Hope this helps!

MaryKay has several different ones. There is a regular eye cream which works well, a firming eye cream, a soothing eye gel for puffiness and also a cream that will reduce the crows feet and little wrinkles anywhere else. I do sell it so if you are interested, let me know.

I used to hike over to the mall & buy the expensive creams & make-up at the cosmetic counters. After kids I just didn't have the time to go to the high end stores just to buy face creams. Now I use Aveeno products & I love them. You can buy them anywhere & they are even better than the other products that I use to buy.

Hi J.,

If you'd like to go the more natural route, try Kiss My Face's Potent & Pure line. It's available at Whole Foods or online at www.kissmyface.com. Each product (I've used the eye cream, toner, brightening day cream, and night cream) is in the $20 range.

Best,
R.

I love Origins Night-a-mins for an undereye cream. I used to use their Eye Doctor, but found it a little light as I got older (I'm 41). When I had my daughter I took a long unpaid maternity leave and switched to Oil of Olay regenerist (but still did night-a-mins at night--worth every penny). I do like their face cream, but the eye cream isn't serious enough. Back at work, I've kept the regenerist face cream, but switched back to Origins for the eye cream. Am now trying their Youthtopia for the day eye cream and it's definitely much better. Wish I loved it as much as night-a-mins, which I swear by. But the youthtopia is quite good.

I have always used Oil of Olay, until one day I used The Body Shop and I am hooked. I use their Vitamin C and E line. OMG I feel and see such a difference. I won't use anything else unless I find something better. I see their line mentioned a lot in magazines so I am starting to use their different products as well but their moisturizers and cleansers are the best I've tried.

Hi J.
It depends on how much you want to spend. If you have fine lines around your eyes, use a cream with retinol like ROC or Neutrogena. You can buy these products at Ulta and return them if you're not happy. Also, Oil of Olay came out with some good products that are more pricey ($40-50) but give the same results as dermatolgist prescribed creams. If you have more to spend, Peter Thomas Roth ($100) Unwrinkle Eye cream is good as well as La Mer ($125). Roth you can buy at Ulta and again, return if you don't like it. La Mer you can buy at blissspa.com or upscale dept stores.

I see you've received many suggestions so I hope you don't mind if I add another to the mix. I recommend that you use Votre Vu’s eye hero….Tout Le Monde, Antioxidant Eye Gelée every day and night. This powerhouse eye gel works overtime to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, fade dark circles and eliminate puffiness. It was developed to improve the overall health, moisture level and quality or your skin but it also firms, tones and tightens the entire eye area while protecting from the elements. Chill for an even more refreshing experience but it has a very cooling affect without chilling it. Votre Vu products are french-made, naturally-based and affordable. These products were previously used in exclusive European spas and salons and are now available for delivery right to your door and come with a 45-day money back guarantee. I'll throw a few more out there that weren't mentioned. You can check them out online and their stores downtown. I love Kiehl's, Fresh, l'Occitane and Benefit. My longtime stand-by is Clinique's "All About Eyes." I'm in the process of also trying to find a newer/better eye cream, and I think I'm going to go with l'Occitane's Immortelle Eye Balm (just used a sample I got in the mail and LOVE it). I'm all about getting samples. No sense wasting good money on something that's just not right for your skin type. You can also go to Sephora and get free samples of stuff. Good luck finding what works for you.
