Put ice on it and if it is bleeding (or just looks really bad) take her to urgent care.

take her to the Doctor and follow recommendations. After, go get some warm cocoa with marshmallows and snuggle with her in the blankets and comfort her :)

My niece got hit in the eye with a paint ball one time and it almost caused her blindness in that eye. I would take her to the doctor to make sure there isn't some damage to the eye. Other then that ice is what they recommend I believe.

Hi M.,

I would definitely call the doctor and get advice from a professional. If it's almost swollen shut, I would take her to have the doctor look it over for himself/herself especially since it's her vision in one of her eyes that you're talking about.

I hope everything turns out okay for your daughter. She will probably be in pain so make sure you ask the doctor what you meds you can give her for some sort of comfort.

If she can see out of it and there's no blood. Just put a bag of peas on it, or use any other methods you know of to take swelling down. Poor baby.

ice pack can help but you have to consult a doctor if it is really swollen and red...

Ice it. You need to put ice on it several times a day. You don't say how old she is, hopefully you can explain to her that the ice will make it feel better and take the swelling down. She will probably have a black eye for a few days even a week.
Walgreens and other pharmacies usually have the soft re-usable ice packs. They work very well, I keep a couple in the freezer all the time. Great for any kind of bumps and bruises.
