Extreme Low Back Pain 3Months After C-section.
I had my 3rd child Dec.1st and first c-section.I hads to havea scheduledc-section because my son wasso big thedoctor would not let me try to deliver on my own.(he was 11 lbs. 4oz.)
My back hurt while I was pregnant but it is nothing like this.I've read where somewomen that had a c-section had back pain also where the spinal block was put in.But my question is .Is it normal 3 months post csection for you to still have extreme backpain?

I've never had a c section or any sort of spinal relief during my births but I think I have read somewhere that in a small percentage of women that pain never goes away. There are MANY more problems that it can cause that get glossed over by doctors including death and paralysis and chronic pain both in the lower back, legs and sometimes chronic headaches and even arthritis.
I'd contact your health care provider and start seeing a good chiropractor as well!

Have you ever seen a chiropractor? You should find a good family, wellness based chiro not just for your back but for you and your family's overall health. If you're in the Charleston, SC area I recommend Atlantic Coast Family Chiropractic on Trolley Rd in Summerville. The doctor is Heather Wyant and she has cared for me and my family for the past few years. She has a web site and it very easy to communicate with.

I had terrible back pain after an emergency csection. The doctors were uncertain if it was do to the spinal or the fact that I pushed for 7 1/2 hrs. But what ever the reason it has taken me six months to recover and i still often have pain in my lower back. i have had physical therapy, acupuncture, seen specialists. What helped me the most was massage and physical therapy ( working to strengthen my back, alinement ). Also try talking to the doc that did the spinal they may have some answers. Most importantly, talk to your doctor and dont let them dismiss it. Take Care

Alot of it depends on what type of pain management you recieved. For my first C-section (which was an emergency), I only received an epidural. With my second C-section, I received a spinal block. Both left my back hurting, but I noticed that the spinal block caused more prolong pain than the epidural. My youngest (the delivery where I received the spinal block) is 16 months now, and I still have occasional back pain (especially during that time of month). There have been times where the pain is so severe that I have to stay in bed! Many other women I've discussed this with have similar problems. If you are still concerned, talk with your physician and ask him if what you are feeling is normal or not. Sadly, many women that have had epidurals, or spinal blocks (I've had both), experience back pain long after their surgery.

I would definitely go in for an appt. Who knows? It could be kidneys, uterine fibroids...
