I'm debating about how to break the news of #3 to my family. I have had a lot of ideas, so I thought I'd share.

One idea I had was to make a simple sketch a bottle of Prego spaghetti sauce, scan it, and then print it on the computer as a card. Inside, it would say, "it's in there!" with a little ultrasound image.

Another card idea was to sketch (or scan, or google) a picture of a bunny all sprawled out on the ground, with x's for eyes. Under that, type "Aw, the poor rabbit died." Inside could be an ultrasound or just your due date.

Something I already did was to take a picture of my boys. The youngest has a famous-in-the-family tee shirt that says, "My Parents are Exhausted." On the computer, I altered the tee shirt to say, "Aw man! Now I'm the MIDDLE CHILD." I was planning on mailing a bunch of fun snapshots to everyone, with that photo as the last one. It's not like me to mail prints, so it would catch their attention.

To announce our second, we went the sort of generic route. I made my son a tee shirt that says "I'm a big brother." I designed it on the computer and printed it on iron-on-transfer paper. The font I used was a baseball font, so it looked less obvious. I took a picture of our oldest in it. He was also wearing a baseball cap to throw them off a little. I emailed it to everyone and waited for the calls to come in. I guess I was too sneaky, because a lot of people didn't even read the tee shirt. So I sent out another email that said to look at his shirt. Then the phone calls started pouring in. I've since decided that it's not enormously personal to announce it by email.

I also have a card I made for a friend on the computer that just has a little cinnamon roll on the front, and inside it says, "there's a bun in the oven. The timer's set for _(your due date)___" Send me a pm if you want me to email it to you, or if you need any help with computer graphics!

And congratulations!

A friend of mine had little t-shirts made that siad "I'm gonna be a big brother/sister" and then took a picture of the kids and either e-mailed or sent snail mail to family and friends. It was fun cause some got it right away and some didn't! Congrats and good luck!

you could send out a cute birth announcement note. or have your kids call and announce it. My friend's parents set another place at the table and when the kids asked who it was for they told them about the baby.

You could try writing a poem of sorts to announce the upcoming event. Like "2 little hands+2 little feet=4 great kids for us, can't be beat." I usually do something similar when I send out the birth announcements, when I find out we are expecting I just tell them. Good luck and congrats.
