Exercise DVD

Hi everyone:) I am going to buy a new exercise dvd tonight and I'd love to hear if anyone has one that they absolutely love. I'd like to focus mainly on cardio and toning. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Ok, so update! - I did the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred this morning. OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! ha-ha - let me say I am not "that" out of shape, I'm a fairly active woman and I only have about 10lbs to lose and I felt like I was dying! hahaha. But of course I'll do it again. It's a great at home workout.

If you would like to get out of the house, with the little one for a great workout (!) you might want to try Stroller Strides. Message me for more information!

I love The Firm: Cardio Overdrive, Hard Core Fusion, Hi-Def Sculp, Cardio Party, Cardio Dance Fusion and Core Solutions. I also use Core Rhythms Secret to Sexy Abs.

I've been working out most of my life and love the results I get from these workouts.

If I had to choose only one I'd pick The Firm Cardio Overdrive.

I have BeachBodies Power 90 (the original) It kicks your butt, but it's not hard to do - only about 30 mins - not boring, you def feel it the next day! Lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks, and about 3-4 lbs every week after, when I switched to the next level I lost another 20 lbs in a month and again a steady rate of 3-4 a week after and have kept it off with continual use of the video.

Jillian Michaels! Truly she will whip you into shape. And, there are different levels, so don't worry, if you can't complete the whole thing at first, or cant get to level 3 - don't sweat it (haha) you can work up to it. :) I really can't say enough about her - I fell so in love with her DVD's that I joined her online site for 6 months (there's a monthly fee). Did I mention it really works? Oh yeah, I have to tell you this story... My husband decided to get in shade about a one month after I did. In other words - I had been working out with Jillian for one month at this time and trust me, it makes a difference. So I invite him to try working out with me that day. He scoffed at my "little girl DVD's". I don't want something "like that" he says,. "I want a REAL workout". HA! I convinced him to try it just once and half through he was literally on the floor whining that everything hurt and he couldn't go on. He has never joined me and my "little girl DVDs" again, but he's never again made any negative comments about them either. He now readily admits they are the real deal. :) The ones I have are: No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, and 30 Day Shred. They are different, so it is helpful (for me) to have them all. One focuses on cardio, one strength and toning, and one has 20 minute workouts for those hectic days.

Either way, I think you'll be happy. :) I can say that I do not recommend The Biggest Loser products as much as Jillian alone. I have tried every workout DVD I could find on Netflix before investing in the Jillian set and I am SO happy with it.

Good luck in your choice. :)

Oh yeah, one more thing, one of the things that kept me motivated with this set is because I never wanted to feel again like I felt that first day and the first week. It was h-a-r-d. But once you get passed that - SO worth it. :D

I like doing Zumba a LOT, but I haven't done the DVDs personally. I hear from a couple of co-workers that they're great, though.

I just started a program called 10 minute Trainer. It is the same program as P90X but starts at 10 minutes per day. You can build up to thirty minutes as you tone up. I started it a few days ago and boy am I sore!! I really didn't expect that with only 10 min. There is also an eating plan that is not hard to follow at all, which with kids is really important. After my hubby and I finish the 10 min trainer, we are going to go for P90X but I am too out of shape and just had a baby 5 weeks ago, so I wasn't ready for that intense of a workout! Anyway good luck, hope you find something great!

I'm not sure if you recently had a baby (so this might not be challenging enough for you), but I've started Lindsay Brin's Postnatal Boot Camp, and I love it. It has a bunch of 3-minute core and 10-minute interval (ie, cardio and toning) workouts that you can mix-and-match.

Love Zumba, it doesn't feel like excerising just dancing but it definately will tone you up and make you sweat. I also do the Leslie Sansone walking DVD's. Check them out at the library first to see if you like them.

I love P90X. It is time consuming though. About an hour a day and 90 minutes on Yoga day. You work out 6 days a week too. But boy does it work!

How about free workouts on your computer? I just started doing some of the workouts on www.bodyrock.tv, and they kick butt! I get motivated just looking at the girl that does the videos. They arent easy, but I'm making myself do them at least 4 or 5 days a week.
