EXCESSIVE (I MEAN EXCESSIVE!!!!!) Drooling
My son is 10 months old, and he's cutting teeth BIG time (he's got his 2 bottoms, and his two tops just came in). He's normally a pretty drooly child, and when he's cutting teeth, it comes in BUCKETS, and I am NOT exaggerating. Does anyone have any tips to help because it's a huge pain and a hazard to him. He goes through bib after big and shirt after shirt, his little neck and chest break out no matter what I do! Going crazy so any advice would help!! Thanks!

That's how my son was. There's no stopping it. Just make sure to keep his neck dry. Try Liquid Powder made by Huggies.
We just kept bibs on him at all times.

As far as the drooling, I don't know anything that works to reduce it. But, my son got a horrible rash when he went through this and my dermatologist said to dry his neck off during each diaper change and to apply vasoline in a thin layer to the bottom of his chin and neck and anywhere that is rashy. That will protect the sensitive skin from the moisture. Good luck!!

One of the girls I am a nanny for was like that, she just outgrew it eventually but it was a real pain!

I agree, I don't know anything that reduces it either. But at least it isn't excessive spit up! One of my daughters was CONSTANTLY spitting up, and I would go through bib after bib, constant shirt changes. The only thing I can really mention is...keep lots of bibs on you! I also had some of those bibs with the vinyl backs on the, which helped a lot, it prevented the spit up from seeping through to her shirt. See if you can find some of those. And for a rash... not sure if this will help? But you might want to look into it...the same daughter had a horrible diaper rash at one point, all she could do was scream and cry, and I stumbled upon Calendula, which we got from the health section of the grocery store. It is a lotion/ointment made from some plant to help with rashes. I put that stuff on my daughter before she went to bed(as nothing else was helping), and that horrible rash was gone by morning. But my other daughter, that stuff doesn't do a darn thing for her? Might be worth a try for his rashes he gets. Good luck!

My son drooled excessively till he was over 2 years old so I understand! He didn't have that many breakouts due to many daily changes of bibs (Carters dribble happy bibs worked best) and shirts. He went through about 5 bibs and 3 shirts a day. We had over 40 bibs! After awhile, we would try and close his mouth and tell him to close his mouth. I don't know if that is the real reason but the drooling stopped a few months ago.
