Ever Lived in Thousand Oaks, CA?

I never lived in Thousand Oaks, but I was born and raised in Southern California. I lived in Orange County & San Diego County. I will add that the State of California has very high education standards (much higher than the State of Colorado). I am very familiar with this because my sister-in-law teaches kindergarten in Orange County.

California is such a beautiful place. I think you will really enjoy living there. I know I did! The only reason for the move was the cost of living. We realized how much farther our dollar would go here in Colorado.

I lived in Los Angeles, Norht Hollywood, Van Nuys and Hollywood Hills for 18 years. Thousand Oaks is a very exclusive and upscale place. The schools there are supposed to be great, but just remember it is CA and there are a lot of influences there. Thousand Oaks is beautiful and I think you will like it there. I miss CA to a point but I'm really happy my kids will grown up outside of Hollywood where I used to live. My office was in Beverly Hills and while there were stars everyhwere, life's pressures are just too much for a child to go thru. Check the charter schools there. Good luck and enjoy the weather there. I miss it.

I haven't lived in Thousand Oaks, but my sister-in-law grew up there and my brother and his wife lived there for a few years. My brother's wife taught English at a high school there. She says the public schools there are really good. I think there might be a tendency to get caught up in materialism but there were lots of good people too. I would be happy to ask them any specific questions you have. They would both be happy to help and have experience with that exact city!

Ihave friends in California and as far as schools, like most cities it probably depends on the district you are in. I know that there is a charter school option in that state which is pretty popular among many. I would recommend doing a realestate search online- there are many choices and see what is available. For sale by owner is always a good choice. The local Chamber of Commerce in that area can also guide you and help get you the answers your looking for.
