Ever Heard a Tourbontine Sp? Anionic Hair Dryer? Got a Better One?

My dryer seems to be drying my hair out. I'm having tons of issues with my hair right now with breaking off, looking frizzy, looking blah and boring. No shine no nothing! It could very well be hormonal and the effects of your body after having a baby, but he is 2 yrs old now. Hair can't take much coloring or it frizzess even worst and breaks, go back natural and it just is sooooo blah. and it still looks frizzy. I was think I should changed my dryer possibly. I read about this Tourbontine Anionic Hair dryer that is absolutely amazing, it is 300 or so but you can get the travel size for like $50. Does anyone have experience with this or could recommend a good dryer for THICK, THICK, slightly coarse (especially with coloring) hair. Even if I find the stylist I need, no one really helpful with the products. ?

What can I do next?

I haven't heard of the hair dryer you are referring to but I do have a hairdryer with the ionic technology. From my perspective it isn't any different from any other hairdryer.

I have had a license since 1967 and I have course frizzy hair too. But control it with flat irons. Also when every I over processed my hair I used infusion leave in conditioner. Too much will make the hair to weighted but just a little evenually strenghtens the hair. Good Luck. G. W

Hi, I know this may seem obvious but for everyone who has a dryer make sure to clean the lint trap in the back. That is what breaks your hairdryer. I have been doing this to mine and it has lasted me 3 years already, before I would have to buy 1 a year. Use a toothpick and tweezers (some are hard to get to). Otherwise I dont have any info on the other dryer.

I just bought this one about a month or so ago at Target...about $40.00! Works GREAT!!!

Remington T/Studio Collection
Tourmaline, Ceramic, Gemstone Technology
Lasting Frizz-Free Shine
Salon quality AC motor
4 yr. warranty (this is Awesome because I blow them up every year)
Tourmaline-Ceramic plus active ion therapy

It is chocolate color with pick accents

It is a pretty forceful dryer and cuts drying time down by more than half. I HIGHLY reccommend this hair dryer to anyone!!!

My daughter has really thick hair and had that same problem. Use Tressomme shampoo and conditioner or Mane and Tail. Either one of those works wonders. it takes a couple times but they will leave your hair soft and silky.

Is that they dryer that Sephora sells?? If so yes I heard they are awsome too! And if you have a old or cheap dryer then ya it might be your dryer. Are you using a round brush that has the brissles or one that heats up, that has metal?? If its the metal one that will burn your hair if your not careful. And you need "It's a 10" miracle hair mask. That stuff is awsome. I get it at the beauty supply for hairstylists, so manybe ask your hairstylist to get it for you. Also they have a miracle leave in product, that you put in your hair before drying and it protects your hair from heat!! Not kidding this stuff is really great!! Hope that helps, I am a hairstylist in Grapevine, right by Grapevine Mills Mall. I have been using the CHI dryer at work for about 4 years. I don't care for it. It gets really hot and the pressure of air that comes out is not much. It gets too hot I think cause the hair starts smoking, I really have to watch it when I use it to make sure I don't fry my clients hair. Just my personal experience!!

I have the tourbontine Anionic Hair dryer - the T-2 (or T-3). It is a great dryer - less frizz and quicker drying time. It is expensive though. If I want my hair super smooth - I still have to use a tourbontine hair iron after.

Hello,

I just wanted to tell you that I have very thick, thick, hair and curly.. After 12 years of the same look I just cut my hair off.. Now, because of the courseness I blow dry very minimal..I just make sure I diffuse it not just straight blow dry it.. Now, if your hair is as course and think as mine, I know how long it takes my hair to dry without blowing it out.. But, I try to wash my hair at night or once I get home the evening, that way it can air dry at nightthat way all i have to do is flat iron it. That way I'm not blowdrying it and straightening it with a flat iron too.. My point being is my hair gets really dry when I have to blowdry it and straighten is because of how course it already is.. I do have a wonderful lady that cut my hair and I have shocked everyone with my drastic change..I never thought I could have a cute short haircut but Priscila Martinez @ Veronyka's Color Salon & Spa..Gave me the new look.. She is awesome and listens to what you want.. I'm sure she could help you out.. I've never met anyone with thicker hair then myself, so for Priscila to actually make my hair look great believe me she could do it for anyone..###-###-####..Hope you find a blowdryer your looking for..If you do please let us know how it works..So, I can get one too..:) Have a great day...

It sounds as if you need to condition your hair and not use the hot setting on your dryer. I have thick, colored hair but shorter in length. I have used for years with success the products of Citre Shine by Schwarzkopf. I use the Citre Shine Highly Laminating Shampoo and Conditioner. They also have a spritz for more shine and I use their Hairspray as well. The Citre Shine products are harder to find now but are inexpensive. Ulta carries it and then I order it online for a lot less. I also use an inexpensive Sassoon diffuser hair dryer on medium heat and medium blow. The hot strong air will dry and frizz your hair. It will take you a little bit longer to dry but your hair will be much better for it. You will have compliments on your hair having a healthy shine too.

Hi there....I really can't give you any advice on that dryer, but I thought I'd chip in that it very well may be more than just a dryer issue--My hair was always very thick and somewhat wavy, but after my 2 girls were born it got even thicker, and MUCH curlier/frizzier. AND my hair started growing in darker! My girls are 3 and 2 now....I'm officially no longer a natural blonde...ha ha...the changes seem to be permanent! I tried and tried to work with my new curly hair, but just a couple of weeks ago I finally gave up and got a new haircut...I had it cut up to shoulder length and thinned out a lot with some long layers so that it's manageable for using a straightener on! For the first time in a couple years, I'm able to get my hair to look somewhat smooth and shiny again!!

Anyway, enough rambling...just wanted you to know you're not alone with the hair changing thing! :) Good luck with finding a dryer and products!!

Hi M.! I think you have the same problem alot of us mom's have! I see it everyday. (I'm a hairstylist in The Woodlands). Here's some things you can try: Don't shampoo or blowdry your hair everyday, your natural oils from your scalp are the best to repair dry hair. Go every other day, 3 if your just staying home. I would get the CHI blowdryer, they are under $200 and are ionic, which has negatively charged ions which diffuse the water off instead of heating them up so much to dry them out of your hair, and its a ceramic heat, which is a softer heat. Also, I've had my CHI at home for 5 yrs and I can keep them at work for about 3 yrs. The brush you are using also could be wrong for you, with your coarse hair, and since you want it smooth, it needs a boar hair brissle. Be careful of the metal ones. Before you blowdry (every other day now) apply some leave in conditioner like Redken anti snap and use a deep cond once a week. I like Ojon (Ulta, Sephora, and QVC). For the shine, you can apply a spray shine after your hair is dry or go ask your stylist for a clear gloss. I charge $35, its like a semi-permanent color that lasts 6-8 weeks, it adds shine and smooths out the cuticle. Also, it never hurts to keep taking those prenatal vitamins! Hope this helps!

I don't know about the hair dryers, but if you get some spray on Keratin (sp?) and spray it on your damp hair every time you wash your hair will become much more managable, unfrizzy, and overall healthier. I got this tip by watching 30 years younger and tried it on our VERY DRY hair, it worked wonderful! Our hair is naturally made of keratin and this just helps repair and nourish each strand.
