There are other options besides western medicine. I did the same as your friend and when all of my options had been exhausted short of a hysterectomy.

I worked with a midwife who did accupuncture and chinese herbs. This is a viable option for women who have been down the MD path. There are other options such as diet, but a good herbalist or naturopath would steer your friend in the right direction.

I certainly think it is worth pursuing since she seems to need some support that maybe her ob/gyn can't give.

I wish her luck.

She just needs to follow up with her doctor.
I suffered with endometriosis for many years and it was not unusual at all for me to go 8, 9, 10 months with no period.
Her physician is really the only one who can assess the degree of her situation and hopefully get her back on track. I don't know who old she is, but I started my period late, 15, and never had a "normal" one on my life.
So, that was "normal" for me.

Your friend needs to talk more closely with her doctor about what is going on. Since she's had surgery and the hormone therapy, a follow up seems in order.

Hi Kika,

I vote with the other mom who recommended acupuncture and herbs. If your friend is willing to undergo treatment for several months--because it really does take time to correct a hormonal imbalance that has been surgically and medically induced--she will likely have very good results. Make sure the acupuncturist works predominantly with women's health issues.
