Embarrassing Vaginal Problem

I am almost 33 weeks pregnant with a very large baby boy (doc thinks he will be 11 lbs at birth). I noticed yesterday something that looked like a hemmerhoid protruding out of my vagina. I googled and learned there is no such thing as a vaginal hemmerhoid. What could this be? I also ran across "rectocle" but don't have any of the symptoms. It feels like my insides are coming out! Could it be the baby is just so big it's pushing things out?? I am scared and embarrassed. My obgyn appt isn't until Wednesday. Has anyone experienced this???

What can I do next?

Hi M., when this happened to me, it was my bladder, my baby was 9lbs and 23 1/2 inches long at birth.

I agree with calling the doctor. However, I have something very similar to this. I'm only 24 weeks along but my bladder is prolapsed down.

They don't call them vaginal hemorrhoids, but they DO exist! It's basically what a hemorrhoid is -just in your vagina. They refer to them as vericose veins -like the ones you can get on your legs. One of my friends had one with her last pregnancy. They pop out from pressure.

I agree with Allison.. could be a swollen vericose vein. I have had it with all three of my pregancies.

But, call the Dr. in the am just to make sure.

Good luck and Congrats on baby

Call your OB right now... they will probably either send you to, or meet you at the ER.

It could be many things... prolapse being one of the most dangerous (prolapse can actually be MANY things... including your bladder or uterus "falling out".

Hi M. - It could be a couple of things - a varicose vein or even your pelvic floor giving way to a heavy baby and what your seeing is your bladder, etc.

Make sure you talk to your doc about it at your appt on Wed. They can examine and tell you what's happening. If it's accompanied by any bleeding, call your doc ASAP.

congratulations on your pregnancy!

Call tomorrow and ask the nurse at your doctor's office.

Call your Doctor, before Wed. Just because your appointment is then, does not mean you cannot call them nor see them earlier.
Ultimately, only your Doctor can tell you what it is.
He/she will have to see it.

You need to get yourself to a hospital asap! Google cord prolapse!

sounds like a varicose vein. I just had them with my 3rd pregnancy. They did go away after delivery.
